Li Jun is a Peking Opera performer with the Shanghai Jingju Theater Company. After the outbreak(退休), the 59- year- old man took up his smartphone and started livestreaming. Unlike performing on a formal stage, Li uses ordinary places as his stage, including his backyard and study room. Apart from singing, Li also teaches audience about Peking Opera. People can ask him questions and get answers directly. 

" Livestreaming has brought this elegant(高雅的) art down to earth. ' one viewer said. " It gives young people an easier access to this traditional art and learn more about it. " Li has more than 6, 000 fans on Douyin, while one of his videos got 42, 000 views on Bilibili. 

On March 26th, 2020, Bilibili livestreamed a Huafu show on the third China Huafu Day(中国华服口). Performers presented clothes in traditional Chinese styles, including those from Wei, Tang and Ming dynasties. During the show, viewers not only enjoyed looking at the clothes, but also watched how performers used ancient styles of make- up. 

As Guangming Daily noted, livestreaming has come to a new stage. And traditional culture can be kept alive through this stage. 

Liz was from a small village in Southern America. Her family was poor and noodles were often their only food. Her parents couldn't afford to pay the electricity bill(电费), so she had to study by candle light.

Nobody knows when or where kite flying began. but there are some stories about the history of kites. 

Early kites may have been simple flat shapes like leaves. Later, kite designs improved as people discovered how to put lightweight coverings over frames(框架). Silk and paper are lightweight materials that were invented in China. Chinese kites date back (追溯) at least 2, 000 years. 

The first Chinese kites may have been used by armies, perhaps as signals. As time passed, kites took on other uses. , Then there were kite flying holidays, such as the one held on the ninth day of the ninth month. 

According to the legend(传说), that was the day when a family went kite flying on a hilltop. Returning to their house, they saw that it had collapsed (倒塌). 

Before long Japanese kite flying took on a new purpose. Kites were flown to celebrate happy things and good luck. Soon, kite flying reached many other Asian countries. In each land, kites were designed for ceremonies and sports. Later, knowledge of kites traveled west, to northern Africa, to Europe, and finally to America.  But their creations did not spread as widely as the kites of Asia. 

In 1988, Wang Chengbang retired(退休) from the army. Instead of enjoying a relaxing life, he volunteered to save the soil from becoming desert by planting trees in Korla, Xinjiang. 

It is not an easy job. The high temperature in Korla makes it difficult for anyone to work day after day in the sunshine. Besides. water is a big; problem. In fact, Wang's work in the first few years failed as very few trees survived(存活). 

But he would not give up. " After trying many different ways, I have learned how to grow young trees in a better way, " said Wang. He also worked out new ways to save water with his hard work, more and more trees have survived. So far, he has planted more than 5 million trees. Those green trees prevent desertification (沙漠化), make the air cleaner and protect people from the hot sun. Now, Korla is a model city in environmental protection. 

Wang is also successful in fighting cancer(癌症). In 2005, he had cancer and was told that he had only six months to live. However, be continued taking care of his trees rather than lying on the hospital bed. " Working is the best medicine. Planting trees helps to fighting cancer, " he often jokes. 

Now, at the age of 86, Wang Chengbang is still working. 

 When we talk about reading, we probably think of eyes. because we do the reading with eyes. Many years ago, some people ( wonder) whether they could do some reading with cars or not. And now their dream has already come true. With the development of smartphones, it's getting much ( easy) to do some reading with ears. This is audio reading.
