Life is full of happiness and sadness. We all know this, but we often heard from someone who is dying. This is the movie Go Away, Mr. Tumor about. The film is from comics artist Xiong Dun's true life fighting a malignant tumor (恶性肿瘤) during the last days of her life. But to our surprise, the movie is made in a light and funny way.
For the most part of the film, it can be enjoyed as a comedy. It brings Xiong's wild imagination(想象) to life – one moment, she fights against zombies(僵尸), and the next she and her dreamy Mr Right share a heartfelt hug. The movie is free from the moments that seem sensational(煽情的). Some say the story seems too happy for a film about a young dying woman. But if you've read Xiong's comic series of the same name, you know that the film's actress is just an unbelievably happy woman full of energy. On the talk show A Date With Luyu, just a few days before she passed away, Xiong laughed as she shared her experience in the hospital, saying she had only cried once over her illness.
Bai Baihe, 31, is wonderful as Xiong Dun in the film. When Xiong says goodbye to her loved ones, Bai's acting is at its best. We can feel Xiong's helplessness and deep love for life. But as a hopeful film, Go Away, Mr. Tumor is far from perfect(完美), with a broken storyline. All in all, both the cartoonist and actress help us better understand the meaning of life through laughter and tears.
①There is no need to hide it. When they get to know you are a shy kid, they will understand you better. This also helps you feel more comfortable in talks.
②When you smile, people think you are friendly and easy to talk with. Remember that other people have feelings, too; and most people will stay away from an angry-looking face.
③Think more about ways to enjoy parties or games. Don't waste time worrying about your look or other things.
④Each time when you say "Hi!" or smile at someone, say to yourself "You can make it." Keep trying and take one small step once.
A. Get your attention(注意力) elsewhere. B. Take one small step at a time. C. Try to smile more. D. Tell people you are shy. |
