The sneakers have been our best friends and can go with us in walking, running, dancing and also in the other sports. They always give us a comfortable feel and good look when we wear them. These sneaker shoes have a fascinating history behind their evolution (演变).
The sneakers were first produced (生产) in the year of 1800 with a simple rubber sole(鞋底) design. The shoes were given the name sneakers because the soles were so soft and they did not make any sound on the ground. The Keds was the first company during the early decades to produce the sneakers.
As time passed by, the sneakers also got the interest of teens and they became part of their fashion. Sneakers started ruling(统治) youngsters' fashion world. Then the famous company, Nike, also entered the sneaker world. The Nike Tailand was their first model of sneakers and it was followed by Air Jordan in the following years. Nike plays an important role in the production of sneaker shoes and they also have the top place in the athletic shoes' market.
But now, sneakers can be given any possible shape according to a designer's(设计者)imagination. They are used as casual sneakers, dance sneakers and athletic sneakers suiting men and women. The Vans plays an important role in the production of sneakers for women. These sneakers play an important part in the fashion world and they come in different kinds of models and suit everybody's need. Thus, sneakers, with a long history, have reached the top place in the market.

No Car Day was first started by 34 cities in France on September 22, 1998. It was started to protect the environment. By now, more than 1,000 cities around the world have had a No Car Day.
The first No Car Day in China was in Chengdu in 2001. Other cities including Taipei, Shanghai and Wuhan, also support the day.
In Beijing, more and more people are taking part in the activity. It asks drivers to leave their cars at home for one day each month and walk or ride a bike to work. It also calls on Beijingers not to use cars on June 5th (World Environment Day). The slogan for the day is, "If we drive for one less day, we can have one more nice day."
So far, more than 200,000 drivers have shown their support. "We can't control the weather, but we can choose not to drive," said Wu Zhonghua, a car club chairman. Beijing is trying to have 238 blue sky days this year. In the first quarter of 2007, Beijing only had 52 blue sky days. This was 11 days less than the number for the same period last year. Much of the dust comes from the desert, but cars cause most of the air pollution. We must do more for No Car Day.

Who is your hero (偶像)? Why do you like the person? Cool looks? Money? A lot of talent? Shanghai teenagers say they look for more than that. Most of them say their heroes are hard-working and brave.
NBA star Yao Ming was the No.1Chinese hero with 48 per cent of all votes (投票). Zheng Hua, a 13-year-old boy from Shanghai, told us that it was hard for him to go all the way to the NBA. He's a big star. Most of us think he is still kind and loves others after he becomes a famous star. He also helps disabled (残疾的) children.
Jay Zhou from Taiwan is the teen's most favorite star. Liu Yan from a high school of Shanghai is one of Jay's big fans. In her sight, Jay is not just a pop star. "Jay's so kind to his mother and grandma. He takes good care of them," said Liu Yan.
Wang Hao, from a high school of Guangdong, said he liked Zhou Enlai."He's great. He loved his people. He saw people as his own children. And he never thought he was different from others."
Shanghai students also like US businessman Bill Gates. More than half consider him as their hero. One teenager from Beijing who likes Gates said, "Bill was not born rich. He worked hard. And he doesn't like to tell everyone how rich he is. He also has courage (勇气). He left school to start his own business."

On May Day holiday of this year, my parents and I went to the Great Wall. On the way I felt 1, because this was my first visit. I had dreamed 2 this trip many times. We took a train first, and then we took a bus to 3 there. When it appeared in front of me, I couldn't help 4. I said, "What a wonderful 5 it is!"
When I walked on the Great Wall, I felt very proud because it is 6wall in the world. At the same time, I couldn't believe my eyes. I wondered how the ancient people built it by 7. I wondered how many people took part in building it. It was a mystery to me.
I almost lost 8 in the beautiful scenery around it. "He 9 doesn't reach the Great Wall is not a 10 man. Now I'm on the top! I'm a true man," I said loudly.
But, 11 there are many visitors every day, there are many problems for the Great Wall. For example, many visitors throw 12 about or spit on the Great Wall and some visitors 13 carved their names on it.
As visitors, I think we 14 try our best to protect the Great Wall, not to destroy it. It's our duty. The past is not only for us to enjoy 15 for the people in the future.
The panda is one of the (animal) most in danger. There are about 1,000 pandas (live) in nature reserves today. Zoos and research centers look after about 160 pandas. Scientists are studying they live and more baby pandas are born in the zoos.
Pandas live in the forests and mountains of Southwest China. They (main) live on bamboo, and each panda (need) to eat a lot of bamboo every day. The area of bamboo is becoming (small) for many different reasons, pandas have less and less land to live on. Pandas don't have many babies, and baby pandas often die. The situation is becoming very serious.
Our government is working hard (save) pandas. There are more than 30 nature reserves to protect pandas but these are not enough. The government has made a new plan to help pandas. The nature reserves will be bigger and the bamboo (grow) better. Then the pandas will have enough food to eat and enough places to live in. Pandas born the zoos may go back to live in the nature reserves.
