I need your help. My 13-year old son doesn't seem to have any good friends. He used to have some good friends in primary school. Three months ago, he 1 middle school. He has never invited anyone home or gone out with anyone from his new school. When I asked, he 2 said, "It's fine, Mom!" He is on the 7th grade football team, 3 outside school, he doesn't play with any kids.

Dear Jane,
Getting into middle school is a big change 5 both teens and their parents. This change can be very 6 if the kids are shy. Also keep in mind that some teens feel more comfortable being alone than with others. If your son seems "fine", don't 7 too much.
If you do feel something is truly wrong, find out the real 8. For example, do you often argue (争吵) with your husband (丈夫) at home? If so, your son may not want to invite friends over. Young people may 9 their parents' feelings very much.
It's great that he joined the football team. Maybe he will "grow into" a middle school student and make more friends as soon as he is 10.
