Jamie loved to climb things. Her mom said she started to climb things when she was nine months old. She didn't remember that far back, but she sure did like to climb! She would try to climb up every tree she saw. She climbed up every hill in the town with her best friend. She liked to climb anything high in the house ,too.
One afternoon, Jamie was climbing on her dad's car, when she suddenly fell on her right wrist (手腕). She shouted and shouted.Mom came outside quickly and helped Jamie go inside to ice ( 冰敷 ) her wrist. The next day, Jamie's wrist looked dark. She couldn't touch it. It had been hard to sleep the night before, also. It was difficult to try to carry something with that hand.
Mom took Jamie to the doctor in the morning. The doctor said that Jamie needed a cast (石膏).
For the next weeks, Jamie had to be careful not to get water on the cast. It started to smell, too, because Jamie couldn't wash her arm under the cast.
After two weeks, Jamie was so happy to get the cast off. Now she could get back to playing outside, swimming, and maybe a little climbing!
Jamie has learned to be more careful, but she won't stop doing one of her favorite things!
