Laura was leaving her office when her friend Natalie ran up to her.
"Laura, someone just robbed (抢劫) my store!" Natalie said. "The police are there now, 1 I want you to come over, too."
Just then, Natalie's phone rang. She 2 her phone.
"Hello? Oh, hi, Jim," Natalie said. "What? There was a woman … Oh, really. Thanks." Natalie put her phone away.
"What was that all about?" asked Laura.
"Jim works 3 me. He told me an important 4. A woman saw a man come out of the store and drive away," Natalie said. "And the man 5 Henry Crook. A month ago, I fired (解雇) him. Now I'm going to talk to him."
Natalie and Laura went over to Henry's house. He was standing next to a 6.
"Hey, Henry," said Natalie.
"Hi, Natalie," said Henry. He put his hand on the car's hood (引擎盖) and leaned (倚靠) on it.
"Do you have anything that you want to give back to 7?" Natalie asked.
"I don't know what you're talking about," Henry said. "I just got home. I've spent the last 10 hours 8 here from Los Angeles."
Laura told Natalie very quietly, "He's not telling the truth (事实). The car's hood must be very hot after a 10-hour driving. 9 can he put his hand on it? And here come the police. I'm going to 10 them!"
