This year, the world celebrates the anniversary of the birth of J. D. Salinger. As is known to all, Salinger is author from America. He was one of the greatest (writer) of the last century. He is famous for his novel The Catcher in the Rye which is (main) about the story of Holden Caulfield. Holden is a troublemaker at school and has difficulty(fit) in with others, whether they are adults or people his own age.
Many readers have been moved the protective attitude Holden has toward young children, especially to his little sister Phoebe. (Million) of people all over the world have taken the troubled 17-year-old Holden into their hearts.
Apart from The Catcher in the Rye, Salinger published a few other shorter works, but after 1965, at all. The reason for this seems to be that he hated publicity. He had become a (success) writer who didn't care for the fame. He refused to give interviews and did not allow anyone(have) his biography (传记). Salinger still kept on writing, he stopped publishing his writing altogether. Fans of his work hope that one day they will be able to read these "lost" books.
