A young man took his elderly father to a restaurant for an evening dinner. The father was very old and weak. While eating, he dropped food on his clothes. Other people watched him eat in disgust(厌恶), but he and his son ignored(忽视) them.
After they finished eating, his son quietly took him to the bathroom, cleaned the food off his clothes and combed his hair. When they came out, the whole restaurant was watching them, not able to understand how someone could embarrass(使尴尬) themselves like that.
The son paid their bill and started walking out of the restaurant with his father.
At that time, another old man in the restaurant called out to the son and asked him, "Don't you think you have left something behind?"
The son answered, "No sir, I haven't."
The old man said, "Yes, you have! You left a lesson for every son and hope for every father."
