Sam is a twelve-year-old boy. He1New York. And these days he's having a great time seeing his grandmother in China.
It's seven o'clock on Saturday morning. Sam is still2in his bed. But his grandmother is busy cooking noodles(做面条) for him in the3. She knows Sam will get up soon.
After twenty minutes, Sam gets up. When he comes out of his room, he sees a big bowl (碗) of noodles4the table. The noodles are really5for him. He eats all of them.
"Why do you6noodles for me, Grandma?" asks Sam.
"It's7birthday today," his grandmother says. "In China, many people eat very8noodles on their birthdays. They're9of long life. They're called changshoumian, and people10cut up the noodles."
"It's really interesting. Thanks, Grandma. It's a special gift (特别的礼物) ," says Sam.
