Jenny and Alice are good friends. They study in Class 1, Grade 7 in Sunshine Middle School in Australia. Today is Sunday and they don't need to go to school. Let's see what they are doing now.
Jenny's grandma has a pet cat called Kitty. She's two years old. She's lazy and always sleeps. But Jenny loves her. Now Kitty lives with Grandma in China, so Jenny can't play with her. She misses Kitty very much. Look! Jenny is making a video (视频) call with Kitty in her room.
Alice lives with her parents in Australia. Today she's free. She's in an RSPCA shelter (收容所) now. It works to find homes for animals. Alice goes there and reads books to Billy every Sunday. Billy is a brown dog there. He's 3 years old and he's smart. Alice says reading to Billy can help him relax. She wants someone (有人) to take Billy home one day and look after him well. Families and schools have rules to help boys and girls. Some of them think the rules are very important, but some don't think so. Sally and her cousin Jane are good students in the same school. They think rules are important in their life.
One day, Sally has a good idea—she wants to write a book of rules. She wants to help some naughty (调皮的) boys in her school. She thinks the book can help them be good students. If (如果) a boy doesn't follow the rules, he has to help his family do a thing.
Sally asks Jane for help. Sally makes some school rules like "Do homework first", "Don't be late for school". There are also some interesting rules in the book—"Don't eat other people's food" and "Be happy". Jane draws some pictures for the book.
When those naughty boys read the book, they like it very much. And they do as the book says. Their parents want to read the book, too.
Dear Sally,
How are you? I'm in a new school this term. Now let me tell you something about my everyday life.
I usually get up at a quarter past six on school days. Then I exercise. After breakfast, my mom drives me to school. I have four classes in the morning. My teachers are nice. After that, I eat lunch at school. Afternoon classes finish at half past four. I like music. Then I go to the music club and always have fun there. When I get home at six thirty, I take a shower first. My family have dinner at ten past seven. I don't have much homework to do. It usually takes me an hour to finish it. At half past eight,
I either read a book or play chess with my dad. At ten o'clock, I go to bed.
On weekends, I usually go swimming and see my grandparents. Sometimes I watch TV at home and sometimes I clean my room.
What about you? Please write to me!
Yours,
Alice
Dogs can do lots of things and they can be our good friends. There's a black-and-white dog in Georgia, the US. His name is Kupata and he lives next to a park (公园).
It's important for people to follow traffic (交通) rules, but not everyone can do it. To help kids cross the street (街) near the park safely, Kupata comes to the street every day. When cars cross by, Kupata isn't happy and "asks" them to stop. Kupata loves his job very much. Sometimes, he works there for an hour to make sure that kids can cross the street safely.
After working, Kupata goes to the park to play with kids. Kupata loves playing with them and the kids are happy to have a nice friend like Kupata.
Now, many people know Kupata. Some of them come to see Kupata and take photos with him. Kupata is always happy about that.
I'm Henry. It's Sunday today. I'm on the beach(海滩) with my friends. The beach is beautiful. And it's really a good place to have fun.
What are my friends doing? Look! Jack and Tom are playing beach volleyball. It's really interesting for them. They're very busy with their studies on weekdays (工作日), so they don't have lots of time for sports. Lily and Jane are watching them. Sam is listening to music. He likes music very much, and his dream is to be a musician one day. Who is swimming in the water? Oh, it's Peter. He swims very well. He teaches some children to swim on weekends. Listen! Some people are singing Happy Birthday. Oh, they're having a party over there. They're playing games. It's very fun. I'm very happy today!
