Parents sometimes argue with each other about things — that's just a fact of life.

Most teenagers feel sad or afraid when their parents argue. They might think their parents don't love each other any more and that their arguments will lead to a divorce (导致离婚). In fact, occasional (偶尔的) arguments are a sign of a healthy relationship.

①对于父母亲来讲有时候争吵或者不同意是正常的。They might disagree about important things like jobs and family decisions. They might even disagree about little things that don't seem important at all—like what's for dinner. These arguments are often over quickly. Parents may say sorry and make up, and the family returns to normal.

However, it can be stressful or even scary when your parents argue. Sometimes you might find it hard to sleep or go to school. If you really feel sad about this, talk to them about it. ②Don't talk to your parents while they are arguing. You can wait until after an argument and try to talk to them together. Explain how their fighting makes you feel.

One important thing for teenagers:If you ever see the arguments between your parents turn violent (暴力), don't be afraid. And ask your teacher or another adult you trust for help. They will know what to do.
