To stay safe during the time of coronavirus (冠状病毒), we have to give up many things we enjoy. But without physical touch, we might become lonely, sad and even sick. So, if you feel you need a hug, there is something you can safely put your arms around and hold close: A tree!

It may sound strange, but humans have been using nature therapy (治疗) for years. The Japanese practice of Shinrin Yoku is an example. Shinrin means forest in Japanese, and yoku is the Japanese word for bath. It just means spending time in nature: listening to its sounds, breathing the fresh air, and connecting to nature with your heart.

Recently, Israel has been promoting (促进) ) tree hugging on social media. "We recommend to people around the world to go out to nature, take a deep breath, hug a tree, show your love and get love. " In Israels Apollonia National Park, some visitors happily hug the trees.

Iceland Forest Service also did things like this in April. They advised people to hug a tree for at least five minutes every day.
