Wendy wanted to learn English well, but she didn't know how. She asked Mrs Green for (建议). Let's look at Wendy's problems and Mrs Green's answer.
Dear Mrs Green,
I like learning English and I want to learn it well. But I find it so hard. I can't speak good English. Sometimes I know the meaning of the word, but it's easy for me to make some (粗心的) mistakes. Can you help me?
Wendy
Dear Wendy,
I'm happy that you like English. Learning to speak English can be difficult, but don't give up! First, you (应该) speak a little English every day. The best way to learn a new language is just to speak it. Don't be (羞怯的). Don't be afraid to make mistakes. People can only (改正) them when they hear you make them. So start speaking English today. You can practise (交谈) about food or your favourite sport with your classmates. You'll be amazed at how quickly your English (提高). Second, listen (认真地) in class. You'll have better (机会) to understand your grammar exercises if you don't mind asking questions. Carrying an English (字典)with you can also help.
I hope you can speak excellent English.
Mrs Green
