    The Nautilus bumped against the ice. We were trapped in the ice. We worked hard. By the next morning, the h was deeper but now the sides of the tunnel were narrowing(变窄). We worked h. The hole grew deeper, but the air in the Nautilus. was very bad. Then, the captain had a new idea. He heated water in his batteries and pumped it into the hole. This s the space from narrowing, and the men worked as quickly as they could to dig the hole deeper.

    It was a t night. We had so little air that everybody had a headache and could hardly breathe.

    Then, the captain drove the Nautilus into the hole. The ice cracked(破裂),and suddenly, the Nautilus was

    f. It sped quickly northwards under the ice. We still had no air. My face was purple, and my lips were blue. I could not breathe. I could n see nor hear. I was going to die! Ned and Conseil found some air in one of the diving tanks. They gave it to me.Then, I felt the Nautilus bump into the ice aour heads. Again and again it hit the ice.

    Finally, it b through. Air rushed into the submarine(潜水艇), and we could breathe again. Ned, Conseil, and I rushed onto the board. We breathed and breathed, and I thanked my friends for s me with the a in the tank.

    The Nautilus continued sailing north for a few days.
