I used to hate running. At secondary school I found it very tired to run around the sports field and Iwas always one of the1students to cross the finish line. Then, in 2020, my friend asked me to run with him, My 2was," No way! I hate running".
During the weekend Ithought about his question. "Why do I hate running?" I thought. Inthe end I decided to3it. I told my friend I would like torun with him. He was4to hear that. He advised me to look fora running program on the Internet to5me learn how to run. Therewere lots of running programs on the Internet. I6 a 14-week running program. Iwould attend a match when I finished the program. I had to run three times aweek. At first, I ran for short periods of 7and had long breaks. Then8 the weeks went on, I had to run for longerperiods of time and the breaks got9. I enjoyed following the runningprogram each week. Now I can run for10 than 30 minutes each time! I went from11 running to loving running!
On the day of the12I was both excited and nervous. 13was finally time to put my new skills into practice. My friends andfamily came to support me. It was lovely to have them there. With their supportand my training, I managed to finish the 10000-metre run in 72 minutes. I wasvery 14 of that.
From this experience I15 it was a good idea to trysomething before saying I hated it! Because it turned out that I really enjoyedrunning.
