Ishmael started her job as a Chinese teacher in 2022. Her students excited and happy when they greeted her with the Chinese phrase "ni hao" which is translated into "hello" in English.
As a large number of students an interest in learning Chinese, the school carried out Chinese as a full—time language study program in 2018. Some of the content are Chinese greetings, teaching kids how to count numbers, how to introduce, their family members, the weather and time. Kids also take part in competitions like the Primary School Chinese Bridge. The is able to represent the school and travel to China.
Now Ishmael teaches 14 classes made up of 350 students, and she a lot of time preparing for each lesson. "Teaching a language of really interesting. Kids are always interested in learning more about China, about the Chinese culture and food. They even ask a lot of questions during my lessons like what their thing is called in Chinese, " she said, adding that most of the students want to visit China now.
According to Ishmael, students can get a lot from learning Chinese. In China, almost is convenient, like transportation and payment methods（付款方式）, so they can learn and see how they can improve services in their own country. She also encouraged students to career（生涯） in the Chinese language. "It is not only for communication. It will open up another to them. There are more types of jobs that one can do after learning Chinese." she said.
