Xi'an celebrated the first-ever China Hanfu Day on April 18th. There were shows and traditional music concerts which were held by people wearing traditional Chinese clothing. . Then they put their favorite ones online for a Hanfu photo competition, which lasted until May 18th.
The purpose of China Hanfu Day is to encourage young Chinese to take pride in traditional clothing as well as Chinese culture. China Hanfu Day is on the third day of the third month of the Chinese lunar calendar. . In ancient China, this day was also known as Shangsi Festival.
Hanfu is the traditional clothing of Han people who lived in China before the Qing Dynasty. . Although it has changed greatly so far, some of its main characteristics(特点) remain. For example, there were two parts that overlap (交叠)on the front, which is called "jiao ling. " . These characteristics are even introduced into the latest clothing trends called "China Chic"( 国 潮)
