Cameron Bloom, his wife Linda and their three daughters were a happy family. They were enjoying their holiday in Thailand when a terrible accident happened. Linda was badly hurt, and the doctor told her she would never walk again. Linda's world was full of sadness and she felt depressed.

Linda's family members did everything to cheer her up, but it was clear that they failed. Until one day, an injured young bird came into their lives. They named the bird Penguin Bloom and the bird became a member of the family.

Penguin and Linda soon became close friends and one was always looking after the other. When Penguin was weak and sick, Linda would lovingly nurse her back to health. And when Linda found it difficult to move, Penguin would sing loudly to cheer her on.

As little Penguin got better and grew into a strong and beautiful bird, Linda found joy and energy of her own. A year after her accident, she took up kayak (皮艇) racing. Another year on, she became one of the Australia's leading Para-athletes.

Linda got through it, thanks to her family, exercise, and the friendship with the little bird. Penguin was saved by the Blooms at first, and it saved them in ways they could not have imagined in return.
