MORE BABY-FRIENDLY COUNTRY According to the National Bureau of Statistics, China recorded 10. 62 million births in 2021, a drop of 11. 5 percent from 12 million in 2020. China's population growth is set to turn negative （负的）by 2025, the National Health Commission said on August 1. In a major push to deal with the problem, the government said on May 31, 2021 that all families can have up to three children. On August 16, the government brought out a guideline（指导方针）. It introduced a number of supportive measures to encourage births. Housing：Families with more than one child are more possible to get public rental housing. Work：Companies may give employees time to send and pick up children from school. Education：Kindergartens should receive younger children aged 2-3. Normally they only receive children older than age 3. Baby care rooms：Public areas shall build more baby care rooms for mothers to breastfeed（母乳喂养）their babies or change diapers（尿布）. |
