When I was in college, a white cat liked to show up on our campus from time to time. It was1 that he was a homeless cat because he looked thin and weak. Students would 2 him after class and feed him all kinds of food. The school didn't say3 about the cat for a long time.
But one day, we were 4 that one of our fellow students had an infectious(传染性的) disease and it was said that the cat was 5 the source( 来 源 ). After that, we were not 6 to touch any homeless animals on campus. The school started to take turns to keep animals 7 campus, too.
Since we couldn't feed the white cat, it was 8 for him to find food on the street. He 9 weak and skinny. But the rest of us ignored( 忽视 ) the cat, a security guard at our school decided to take on the responsibility of caring for him. He took the cat to a veterinarian(兽医) for a health check. He then went to a nearby10 and bought food for the cat, 11 a small bed for him to sleep in. He made sure the cat was12 and comfortable.
It might seem like a(n) 13 effort to some people. But this man risked his job—his only source of income— 60 to feed a tiny cat who no one else cared for. It was a very heart-warming thing to see. If each of us can do something to help with things or people around us, we can make our world a better place.
