1. (2022九上·成武开学考)  完形填空

Last Friday, Mrs. Lee asked if I could take her dog Heizi out for a walk. I said1  because I like dogs. A few minutes later, Heizi and I were walking happily to the park. 

We were almost there2  a big black dog suddenly(突然) appeared from out of nowhere. Before we could stay away from it, it attacked Heizi. Then the two dogs3  with each other. 

It was just terrible. I was so 4  that I was unable to call for help. 5 , someone showed up just then. A boy about my age pulled the black dog off Heizi. The black dog was 6 . He said he was really, really sorry. He promised that a thing like that wouldn't 7  again. 

I was still shaking when I got back to Mrs. Nolan's house. Poor Heizi's body was full of 8 . Mrs. Lee drove Heizi and me right over to the animal hospital. 

The animal doctor said Heizi should be fine in a few days, but I still felt sorry for not9  it well. Mrs. Lee said it wasn't my fault(过错), because there was nothing I could do at that time. But her kind 10  didn't make me feel any better. 

What a terrible day!
