My name is Mike Green. Last night there was an earthquake in our city. It happened at about eight o'clock. My father was reading a newspaper while my mother was washing the dishes in the kitchen. I was watching TV when the TV screen seemed to move and then started to shake. I realized it was an earthquake ten seconds later.
My father told us to keep cool and not to run around. He asked us to drop down to the floor and find cover under a hard table until the shaking stopped. I was so scared that I couldn't say anything. Luckily, the earthquake was not very strong and we were not hurt. And importantly, from this experience, I learned how to save myself in this kind of situation.
