"I enjoyed myself very much. We planted nine Tembusu trees around the neighborhood. I learnt that there is a tree of this type right in the Botanic Gardens. It is over 150 years old. It only flowers twice a year, with a special fragrance. "
—Joyce
"Getting children to plant trees was a good way for them to experience the joy of gardening. During the tree-planting event, we even got a chance to take some vegetables home to grow and share with our children.
—Annie
"We planted more trees with the help of the residents (居民). It was good to have more trees in the neighborhood where residents could get together to enjoy themselves and relax with their families and friends in the shade. Last year's Tree Planting Day was special for residents as they got to take plants back to grow as a reminder of the event. "
