Animals change their homes from one place to another, because they need to find food, water, or better living places. It is called animal migration(迁徙). Some animals can move very far, Migration happens(发生) all over the world and many animals do it. Do you know what animals change their homes?
Wild geese change homes twice every year. They fly north in spring and fly south in autumn. Butterflies also fly south in autumn because it is warmer. They stay there for the whole winter. Then, in spring, they fly back north.
Humpback whales(座头鲸) also change homes. They are very big animals and they live in the ocean(海洋). Every year, they swim from cold water to warm water. They change homes because they can have their babies in the warm water. Then, in summer, they swim back to the cold water.
Animals change homes for many reasons(原因), Some animals change homes to find food. Some other animals change homes to find a warmer place or to have their babies, Migration can be very challenging(挑战性的), but it is important(重要的) for animals to do it to stay healthy and survive(生存).
