One bright morning, I was out for my usual run when I met an elderly lady. She was waving her 1 at me and speaking in a language I couldn't understand. It seemed like she was in a hurry to go somewhere. I quickly realized that she was 2 and couldn't speak any English.
She showed me some map screenshots (截屏), but I had no idea 3 to read them. So I soon downloaded a translation app which we could use to 4 . She spoke into the microphone in her language, and it translated her words into English for 5 to understand. Knowing what she meant, I gave my 6 and in this way, we were able to communicate!
Then I 7 that she needed to go home, which was a long walk away. She didn't want to go there by bus or by car. So I offered to 8 her to a bus stop where she could ask her daughter for a ride. On the way, we joked and laughed, 9 we couldn't understand each other's language. It was a pretty fun experience!
The elderly lady was very 10 for my help and my time. I had to keep reminding her that it was no 11 at all and that I was happy to help. It was amazing how just a small act of 12 made such a big difference to her.
13 , we reached the bus stop and she made her call. We said our goodbyes and she sent me a heartwarming message that made me 14 the goodness of humans. Even though we used technology, it was 15 that we could help each other out and not be stopped by our different languages.
If you want, there is always a way to help.
