Ganesh Baraiya, who was considered as the shortest doctor in the world, was born in the Talaja Thaluka area of Gujarat, India.
Ganesh was born just like other kids, but at the age of four, his parents noticed that his head was outgrowing his body, so they took him to a doctor. They learned that the boy suffered from a rare disease and there was nothing anyone could do.
Wanting to help her son,Ganesh's mother put a helmet(头盔) on his head to stop it from growing and give his body a chance to catch up. In school, he was often laughed by others because of his large head and short body, but he also had friends who were always with him and he was able to continue his studies.
Although Ganesh Baraiya couldn't grow up like a usual person, he was always full of hope. He knew he wanted to be a doctor from a very young age, and put all his energy into his studies, working hard to get high grades. When the time came, Ganesh had the test for a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree(MBBS). He got good test scores, but only to be refused because of his height(only three feet).
▲ . He tried his best to prove that he totally has the ability to do the same things as others. With the help of his school head teacher, in 2018, India's top court(法院) gave Ganesh the right to be a member in an MBBS, and he did just that the following year. The three-foot-tall man has recently completed his studies and is working as a doctor at Sir-T Hospital in Bhavnagar.
"I was very disappointed three years ago, but I refused to accept the result. Now I am very happy that I have the chance to be a doctor."
