In 1979, （France） pupils were able to watch a new TV program called Monkey King. Most. of them were hearing this story for the first time. However, this story is not new to Chinese children.
The Monkey King or Sun Wukong is the main character in the traditional Chinese book called Journey to the West written by Wu Chengen. The Monkey King is not just common monkey. In fact, he sometimes does not even look a monkey! This is because he can make seventy-two （change） to his shape and size. But unless he can hide his tail, he can't turn （he） into a person. （fight） bad people, the Monkey King uses a magic stick（棒）. Sometimes the stick becomes so small he can keep it in his ear. At other times, he is able to make it big and long.
The children all over the world （love） the Monkey King for many years. And as soon as the program came out over 30 years ago, Western kids became （interest） in reading this story. It tells them the clever Monkey King keeps （lead） a group of monkeys to help the weak and never gives up.
