English Language Day is the day when William Shakespeare were born.
In honor of the greatest writer in the English language, Shakespeare plays
continue to be perform in theaters and seen in films almost 400 years after
his dead. Many people consider English as a world language because it is
used in many fields. Today over two billions people use it in more than 75
countries. It is the main language of business. It is also the most wide used
language on the Internet. A few years before, the United Nations created
language days for every of the UN's six official languages. The United
Nations celebrated their first English Language Day on April 23, 2010.
In that day, a number of events were held in New York City to celebrate it.
