One day, a rich man went to a place in his country. When he came back, his feet hurt a lot. There are too many small stones (石头) on the way. "They hurt my feet. You should cover (覆盖) the way with leather (皮革)," he told other men. Of course, he would spend a lot of money on it. One of the men called Jack told the rich man, "Why not cut a little piece of leather to cover your feet?" The rich man was happy to hear that. He thought Jack's idea is good because it's easy. He asked the men to make a pair of leather shoes for him.
Maybe this is not the beginning of leather shoes. But it teaches us a lesson of life: If we want to make the world a happy place to live in, the best way is to change ourselves (我们自己), not the world.
