Are kids 100 young to volunteer? l1-year- old American girl Josephine Lavoie shows us that kids can make a difference 10 the lives of others.
Five years ago, Josephine started volunteering by organizing an activity. She collected toys and sent them to kids in a children's hospital, From then on, Josephine began to look for ways to help others. She organized beach or waterway clean-up activities. She also made cards for old people in the old people's homes to cheer them up, She even started a little free library in her town.
Josephine gets her ideas of volunteering from things she learns and people she meets. One recent idea came from her friends. "I have a few friends from foster homes (收养所)." she said.
"Foster kids often don't have much. So I collected clothes, school things and books and put them in nice bags. In this way, the kids will have both new things and bags." Josephine gave the filled bags to at least 400 foster kids.
"Although we are young; we need to give back to the world. Even the smallest things we do can make the world a better place," Josephine says.
