A teenager from Naperville, Illinois, became the youngest American woman to reach the summit(山顶) of Mount Qomolangma.
18-year-old Lucy Westlake reached the summit at 5:40 in the morning. "The trip took 26 days, but every was meaningful," she wrote on the Internet. "Looking up at the foot of the mountain, it truly looked impossible, but that night we began our climb and 8.5 hours later, we it! I still can't really believe it."
Westlake is interested mountain climbing. She has begun to climb mountains she could walk."I started climbing because my family enjoy taking. And Ilove pushing to fight against all kinds of difficulties and challenges. So what is better than climbing the mountain in the world?" she said.
