On a Friday afternoon, 8-year-old Leia and her 5-year-old sister Caroline decided to take a trip in the forest themselves. The family usually took camping trips there on weekends, so it was nothing special. But things changed when the sisters walked too far. Then they got lost.
Although Leia and Caroline were afraid, they remembered all the survival(生存)skills that they learned. Because it was very cold during their first night in the wild, the girls stayed together under a huckleberry bush(越橘灌木) to keep warm. They drank fresh water from huckleberry leaves and Leia told her younger sister to think happy things about their family.
At the same time, their parents became anxious when the children didn't return home before night. They called the police and a team of 250 people soon set out to look for the girls.
The two little girls spent another night in their "huckleberry home" while they waited for help. During the nights, Leia tried to keep themselves away from wild animals while her younger sister slept.
Finally on Sunday afternoon, Leia and Caroline heard people calling their names, and they shouted back, "We're right here!" Everyone was glad to find that the girls were safe!
"I'm trying not to be angry with them,"their mother, Misty Carrico, said. "They have saved themselves. I'm just proud of them. They are both superheroes(超级英雄)!"
