It was Mother's Day. My uncle's restaurant was very busy. It seemed that every family took their mother out to eat that day.
My uncle called me from the restaurant. "Henry, people are lining up outside. Can you come to help out?" he asked.
"Sure!" I stopped playing computer games and went to the restaurant with my brother.
We helped bring food and water to the tables and take the dirty dishes away when the customers finished eating.
The chefs (厨师) and their helpers worked like crazy. The kitchen manager called out the orders. The kitchen helpers ran to get things in place. The chefs were busy turning meats and vegetables into delicious food in just minutes.
I didn't remember how many times I brought things in and out through that kitchen door.
I just remembered that at the end of the day,my legs were very sore. The next day,I told my friends, "It felt like I walked all the way from Ottawa to Montreal. "
