I've started learning German recently. I found that I could understand and learn words 1 ,but it was hard for me to understand sentences. My teacher 2 me to read some children's books written in German.
3 ,I felt a bit embarrassed(尴尬的) to read a book designed for children, but then I realized that everyone had to start from doing some simple things,so I started with German books which are suitable(适合的) for 4 in schools. Then I 5 Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens and Roald Dahl's James and the Giant Peach were so interesting.
I used a dictionary to help me at first,so that I could 6 words I didn't know. But my teacher stopped me. He told me to 7 the words from the context(上下文). After a week,I was 8 to find it was really a good way to learn new words. He also said the 9 in these books could help me understand as well, because pictures were also a kind of language.
As a beginner,I often 10 the stories that are interesting. Now I'm getting better and better in German.
