I've started learning German recently. I found that I could understand and learn words 1 ，but it was hard for me to understand sentences. My teacher 2 me to read some children's books written in German.
3 ，I felt a bit embarrassed（尴尬的） to read a book designed for children，but then I realized that everyone had to start from doing some simple things，so I started with German books which are suitable（适合的） for 4 in schools. One day，I was running when I met an elderly lady. The lady was waving her phone at me and speaking a language I couldn't understand. I quickly realized that she was lost and couldn't speak English.
She showed me some map screenshots（屏幕截图） on her phone，but I didn't know how to read them. So，I downloaded a translation App（翻译程序） and we used the App to communicate. She spoke into the microphone（麦克风） and the App translated her words into English.
I soon got to know that she wanted to go home. I offered to take her to a bus stop where she could call her daughter to pick her up. As we walked，we laughed and joked，even though we couldn't understand each other's language. It was a pretty fun experience!
The elderly lady was very grateful for my help and kept thanking me. I had to keep saying that I was happy to help. It was amazing that just a small act of kindness made such a big difference to her.
Finally，we reached the bus stop and she called her daughter. We said goodbye to each other and she sent me a heartwarming message.
Even though we use technology to communicate，it is lucky that we can help each other out and are not stopped by our different languages.
Chinese became one of the six official（官方的） languages of the United Nations（联合国） in 1945. To celebrate this event，the UN created Chinese Language Day in 2010. It is on April 20th every year. What's your favorite festival？Of all the festivals in China，I like the Spring Festival best. The Spring Festival falls on the first day of the first lunar month.
The celebrations last for 15 days with lion dances and other celebration activities. During the festival，family and friends often get together to have a good time. Of course，people can enjoy all kinds of great foods!Among them，I like jiaozi best. It's my favorite food. You can see happy faces and big celebrations everywhere.
Another important tradition which is also my favorite part of the Spring Festival is giving red packets. They are small red envelopes（信封） with some money inside. After getting red packets，I can buy something I like.
The Spring Festival is a time for reunion（团聚）. Family members come back from different places and spend some happy time together. People also chat with their friends. You can hear words about happiness everywhere.
After the reunion dinner，my parents often take me to the street. There we can enjoy the traditional dragon dance performances and other celebration activities. The celebrations will last till the Lantern Festival — the end of the Spring Festival.
Since last year，I have fallen in love with reading. I like to read different kinds of books，especially books about adventure（探险） and biographies（传记）. Adventure books make me feel the wonders of nature. Biographies inspire（激励） me to try my best to be a better person.
Last week，I read a book called The Story of My Life. I think it is the best book I have read so far. The writer of this book is Helen Keller. She is a person who is both blind and deaf. In the book，she wrote that she wasn't able to see or hear when she was one year and seven months old. These unusual things made her very sad.
Luckily，she met a good teacher，Miss Sullivan at the age of seven. Helen was Sullivan's first and the only student. Helen became happier every day. Miss Sullivan helped her learn how to write English words. At first，Miss Sullivan wrote some words on Helen's hands with her own fingers again and again. Helen was a very hard﹣working girl. She tried her best to remember the words that Sullivan had taught her. Later，Helen wrote many famous works which are still read by many people today. The Story of My Life is one of them. Although the book is a little difficult to understand，I like it very much. This book describes her bumpy（坎坷的） journey of struggle（奋斗） which makes people feel sad. In the end，she became a successful writer and educationist of the world.
It shows us an important truth：There is nothing difficult in the world，if you put your heart into it. Whenever I have problems in my life or study，I always think of this book. It can give me courage（勇气） to face difficulties and challenges bravely.
The Mid﹣Autumn Festival falls on the （fifteen） day of the eighth lunar month. It is one of the（much） important Chinese traditional Festivals. My sister （like） it very much. I like it too.
This Mid﹣Autumn Festival，we went to the old people's home as volunteers. We helped clean the floortalked with those kind old people. They told us some （story） and they were very interesting. They （real） touched our heart. After that，we （teach） them how to use mobile phones and laughter was flying over us. Warmth came out from everyone and gradually it filled the whole room. Seeing the joy on their faces，I felt a strong feeling satisfaction run out from the bottom of my heart.
