Check (检查)

Hot drinks make you cough less, and your sore throat will be better, so have some chicken soup. A steamy shower (热水澡) helps your nose feel better. Have a good rest. Every year hundreds of people try to climb the world's highest mountain or walk through rainforests(雨林). Let's take a look at two of the 21st century's(世纪的) greatest adventurers(冒险家).
A mountain climber
Do you know that more than 4,000 people have climbed Mount Everest? Gerlinde is one of them. She is one of the world's greatest climbers and has climbed all the mountains over 8,000 meters in the world. It's difficult to climb mountains in cold weather, but Gerlinde loves it. She started climbing the mountains near her home as a teenager. When she left school, she became a nurse but always went climbing in her free time.
An Amazon adventurer
Ed Stafford is the first person to walk along the Amazon River from the mountains of Peru to the mouth of the river in Brazil. His journey took two years and four months. There are many dangerous animals in the rainforest. But Ed was lucky and he was only bitten(咬) by small insects(昆虫). On his trip, Ed had to look for fruit or catch fish each morning. Sometimes food was hard to find and Ed was often tired and hungry. So he used a radio to ask the people of the rainforest for food and help.
Maybe you pride yourselves on only sleeping a few hours a night. However, are you feeling tired and sleepy throughout the day? Do you have a hard time keeping your eyes open as you study? Have you nodded off while driving? If you can answer “Yes” to any of these, it shows you could not have enough sleep.
It is suggested that most adults need seven to nine hours' sleep. As for teens, they need even more. If you aren't getting enough sleep, you should:
Avoid caffeine(避免咖啡因)
You should avoid drinking caffeinated drinks such as coffee, tea and soda for at least 10 hours before you go to bed.
Avoid eating big meals before sleeping
Eating a big meal can make you feel sleepy, and it can make you feel uncomfortable and prevent you from sleeping well.
Build a healthy sleep environment
With the light on, can you have a good sleep? Of course not, and you'd better keep your bedroom dark and cool.
Avoid using electronics before sleeping

How can you lead a healthy life? Eating well and playing sports are two (use) ways. An American girl (call) Abby Forrence is trying to teach people how to lead a healthy life.
Abby is a national ambassador (大使) from the program Fuel Up to Play 60. There only five ambassadors in the US. Abby is 12 and she is in her (eight) grade at Milford Middle School. The program suggests that young people eat healthy food and play sports for sixty every day.
Abby went to a meeting for the program in Chicago this summer. She learned a lot the meeting. She wanted to make good use of the program (help) stop childhood obesity (肥胖).
