Few people like changing their habits, good or bad. Whether it is smoking, drinking or overeating, they 1 "enjoying" them to the end.
On every packet of cigarettes(香烟), people are warned against the 2 of smoking: "Warning: Cigarette Smoking Is Dangerous to Your Health". 3 , millions of them start smoking or go on smoking. Why?

Tuesday, 1st September
I had mixed feelings today, nervous, worried, happy, excited... My heart went down when Miss Chan, our head teacher, said that Matthew and Beth, two students from England, would spend three months with us! I was worried that I had to speak English so much! But at the end of the school day, I was happier than I thought: the morning with them today was more enjoyable than I expected.
Today is the most unforgettable first day I have had! Matthew is fantastic! His English is clearer and easier to listen to than I thought. The other English student, Beth, is the most helpful girl I've ever met. There were lots of things to do on the first day. Beth offered to help Miss Chan put up all the notices. Of course, some of the credit (功劳)should also go to ME because I translated some of the notices for her. Miss Chan praised us!
We finished all the preparations 10 minutes earlier than expected, and then Beth and I talked for a while. Matthew sang several English songs and did some standup comedy (单人喜剧表演)at the party. We all praised him. When the bell rang to end the first school day, none of us wanted to leave.
When I went back home, I had a little headache. I have probably spoken more English today than the whole of last year.
It was really a happy day! I hope our friendship can continue, even after they have gone back to England!
Hip Hop Class
The Fullerton Community Centre is putting on an exercise class set to the sounds of hip hop music! It's great fun for anyone who wants to get fit to hiphop！We'll exercise to disco and funk music as well. Classes are on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7 to 8 and cost 30 euros a month.
Kids' Talent Competition
Are you good at dancing, singing, playing a musical instrument or making people laugh? The kids who are 10—16 years old are invited to take part in an exciting talent competition at 2 p.m. on Saturday, 6th August at Clearwater Shopping Centre. It's free to enter and the first prize is a trip to New York!
Why do we like drinking water from plastic bottles? Some people think it is healthy and clean. Others drink bottled water because it's easy—you can carry it around with you. In hot countries, like Greece, we often buy bottles of cold water in summer.
However, making lots of plastic is not a good idea for many reasons. First of all, we need a lot of oil for plastic products. We usually use oil as a source(资源) of energy. If we reduced the number of bottles we made, we wouldn't need so much oil. Plastic bottles also pollute the environment. If we recycled all our plastic bottles, we wouldn't need so much space for rubbish dumps. But in Greece, we don't recycle much of the plastic we use. In 2006, Greeks recycled only about 10% of plastic waste. The rest became rubbish on land and in rivers and seas.
So next time you want to throw away a plastic bottle in the litter bin, stop and think. If you recycled it, you would help the environment. But what can you do when there isn't a recycling bin near you? Well, there are lots of useful ways that you can use your bottles again. For example, an empty bottle makes a great piggy bank for your pocket money, and if you cut a bottle in half, you will have a plant pot. Go green! You can make a difference.

Since these small machines are so common, will people stop wearing the 500yearold watches? According to some people, yes. A teenager says it's unnecessary to wear a watch. Many young people agree and they use their mobile phones to tell time. Louis Galie, a president, says that fewer young people wear watches today than five years ago.
However, watchmakers say that watches get popular again when people reach their 20s and 30s. By then, they want to spend money on a nice timetelling tool which doesn't just keep good time. For this reason, the watch industry has become an accessory business (配件业)in recent years.
