—She's fine. She used to ______ TV at home after supper. But now she is used to ______ out for a walk.
I love animals. However, there is one animal that I love more than any other—my 1 , Zoe. My family got Zoe when she was only eight weeks old. I loved her the first time I saw her, 2 a few days later we found that something was wrong. Zoe was really 3 , so we had to take her to the animal hospital quickly.
Zoe got a serious illness, and I was scared that she wouldn't 4 the pain. After a long time, Zoe came home from the hospital, but the illness damaged her 5. Zoe was deaf.
I 6 that I wouldn't let that change her life, so I began 7 her sign languages so that she could learn orders. I helped 8 to learn to sit, come, and do all the other things that dogs do.
Today, Zoe is a happy four-year-old dog. We spend lots of time 9 , for example, when I'm playing the piano, Zoe jumps up to try to play, too! I guess that part of loving a dog is 10 it. Play with it often, and find a way to train it. In return, your dog will give you so much love.

Do you know how to play a game called "Musical Chairs"? It is easy to play and most people enjoy it. All you need are some chairs, some people and some ways of making music. You may use a piano or any other musical instrument if someone can play it. You may use a tape recorder. You can even use a radio.
Put the chairs in a line. The chairs may be put in twos, back to back. A better way is to have the chairs in one row with each chair facing in the opposite direction to the chair next to it.
The game is easy. When the music starts, the players walk around the chairs. Everyone goes in the same direction, of course, they should walk in time to the music. If the music is fast they should walk quickly. If the music is slow, they should walk slowly.
The person playing music cannot see the people in the game. When the music stops, the players try to sit on the chairs. If a person cannot find a chair to sit on, he drops out. Then, before the music starts again, one chair must be taken away. When the music stops again, one more player will be out.
At last, there will be two players and one chair. The one who sits on the chair when the music stops is the winner.
For years I wanted a garden. I'd spend hours thinking of different things I could plant that would look nice together.
But then we had Mathew, and Marvin, and the twins -- Alisa and Alan, and then Helen. I was too busy raising them to grow a garden.
Money was not enough. Neither was time. Often when my children were little, one of them would want something that cost too much, I'd have to say,"Do you see a money tree outside? Money doesn't grow on trees, you know."
Finally, all the children got through high school and college and were off on their own. I started thinking again about a garden.
Then, one spring morning, on Mother's Day, I was working in my kitchen. Suddenly, I looked out of the window and there was a new tree, planted right in my yard. There were things blowing around on it. Then I put my glasses on and I couldn't believe what I saw. There was a money tree in my yard!
I went out to look. It was true! There were dollar bills, one hundred of them, hanging all over that tree. There was also a note among them, "Thank you for your time, Mom. We love you!"
Later, my children bought me tools, ornaments(装饰品), a sunflower stepping stone and gardening books. A new page started in my life.
That was three years ago. My garden is now very pretty, just like I wanted. When I go out and take care of my flowers, I don't seem to miss my children as much as I once did. It feels like they're right there with me. Now every year when winter comes, I look out of my window and think of the flowers I'll see next spring in my little garden. I think about what my children did for me, and I get tears in my eyes -- every time.
I'm still not sure that money grows on trees. But I know love does!
