On January 26th, Kobe Bryant, one of the greatest NBA players in history, died in a helicopter crash(直升飞机失事) in California, US on that day. The terrible crash also killed his 13-year-old daughter Gianna Bryant and seven other people. Kobe was 41 years old. People were shocked and heartbroken after hearing about Bryant's sudden death.
He was a basketball prodigy(神童) and he joined the NBA straight from high school. He played his whole 20-year career with the Los Angeles Lakers and helped the team win five NBA championships(冠军). He was fast, skillful and aggressive(有攻击性的),so people gave him the nickname "Black Mamba" after one of the most dangerous snakes in the world. That's why his competitive idea is known as the "Mamba Mentality"(曼巴精神).
"Mamba mentality is you're going, you're competing, you're not worried about the end result." Bryant said.
The fact that Bryant is no longer with us is sad. We'll never see him play in another game, but we will remember how great he was.
Only about 1 in 5 kids said they talk to a parent when they're sad, but more than 75% of kids said they'd like their parents to help them in times of need. Here's how kids said parents could help:
Talk together.
Help them feel better, like giving them a hug.
Give them attention; do something together.
Help them solve the problem.
Stop yelling (大喊大叫).
Don't make them feel worse.
Help get their minds off the problem.
Pray (祈祷) with them.
Why don't parents do some help when their kids are in times of need? Sometimes parents might feel like kids don't want them to get involved (介入). That's why it's good to talk to a parent — even if all you want to say is that this problem is going on and that you'd like to try to solve it on your own. More often, you might want your mum or dad to offer ideas or at least a little encouragement (鼓励).
Kids can also be nice to their mum or dad when he or she is feeling stressed out. They could draw a card, give a hug, or clean their room without being asked. Then the parents may be too surprised to feel stressed!
Can robots talk to us like humans? Jibo can. With a big, round head and a big body, Jibo looks like a cartoon character. If you say "Hey, Jibo," it will dance and turn to face you. Now, Jibo can only do some easy things, like taking photos or reading the news to you. But it may learn to do something new in the future. | ||
The iPhone X is a "dream come true", according to Apple. It does have some amazing features (特点). The biggest feature is the face ID. Users can pay for things just by looking at their smartphones. Another one is that users can simply put their phones on a wireless charging pad. And also users can make their own emojis (表情包) just by looking at the screen. |
