Making short film is my favorite hobby since I was young. We just finished making our short film summer. I made so many unforgettable1at Toto's Film-making Class. During the 7-day program, 50 students were2groups to create our own films.
I played the role of Dawn in the movie who is blind and3of being a pianist. In the, story, Dawn works hard with his friend Annie and achieves their dreams suddenly. It was very challenging to act like a4person without closing my eyes. After practicing over and over again at night, I finally became5at it!
We all worked hard to make the6. Our director was very7while teaching us how to act and shoot(拍摄). I8shooting a traffic accident scene. Our director knelt(跪下) on the ground to show us how we should do it. The actresses had to9to the ground about 20 times to get the right shot. It was very hot and dry and the ground was hard,10we never gave up.
I learned a lot that week. The most important lesson is as long as you try your best, you can do anything you set your mind to.
Raluca Corneanu was waiting at a London underground station to-meet friends. Suddenly, an old man fell down. People around was1and didn't know what they should do. Without thinking, Raluca.2an ambulance(救护车).
While waiting for the ambulance to arrive, Raluca considered how she could3the man, it's dangerous to4one's head when people didn't know the situation. She started to speak5to the man on the floor, asking for his name and checking to see if he was breathing (呼吸). The man didn't6when Raluca was speaking to him, but she could see that he was breathing. Then she turned his head one side slowly, in order to let him breathe well.
After a while, when the ambulance arrived, the medical workers checked7, It turned out the man had drunk too much, which8him to fall to the ground. The medical workers praised Raluca for her actions, because he may couldn't breathe if nobody helped him. Her simple9saved a stranger's life.
According to the10carried out by the University of Manchester, nearly 59% of deaths could be stopped if first aid had been carried out before the arrival of the medical services. Here is a window of opportunity(机会) before the arrival of the ambulance, where simple first aid actions can save someone's life.

Naismith who invented basketball in 1891, grew up in Canada, where he surely played popular children's school game called "Duck on a Rock" A target, known as the "duck" was situated on top of a large rock. The goal of the game was to throw another rock to knock the duck off the large rock.
When Dr. Naismith began working at the men's training school, he remembered this childhood game. He had his hands full with bad young teenagers who were in trouble with the law. His goal was to educate these troubled young men, and to help them turn their lives around in a positive way.
Dr. Naismith wanted a game where strength (力量) was not enough for victory. He wanted to show the young boys that using their brains was a far better way to succeed.
He put a basket about four meters above the floor at each end of a small gymnasium. A soccer ball was used as the first basketball, and a simple set of thirteen rules was drawn up.
From these beginnings, the game we now know as basketball was born. Over the years, it has changed quite a bit. The rule book of thirteen rules has grown greatly, but the simple elegance(优雅)of the game can still be enjoyed.
By the time of his death in 1939, the game Dr. Naismith loved was well on the way to taking its place as a top world sport.
Without energy in our bodies, we wouldn't be able to do anything. We couldn't walk, talk, or even play. Energy is usable power. And energy is related to some kind of motion.
All living things need energy, no matter what they do. Plants get their energy from sunlight. This energy is stored indifferent chemicals(化合物)inside the plant.
Animals that eat plants take the energy stored in the plants. The energy is then stored in chemicals inside the animals as "food energy". The same happens when animals eat other animals.
Plants and animals use energy every day as they grow and do the work of being a plant or an animal. So plants have to keep absorbing(吸收)sunlight, and animals have to keep eating plants or other animals.
It isn't only living things that have energy. A dead tree has hidden energy. When we burn its wood, it gives off warmth, or "heat energy". The Sun too makes heat energy as it keeps burning.
The Sun gives off not just heat but also light, as "light energy". A battery in a flashlight makes it shine, generating light energy. But if we put the same battery in a radio, we get music. A battery's energy is known as "electrical energy". And in a toy car that electrical energy produces movement.
If we couldn't use heat, light, or electrical energy, we couldn't drive cars or cook food. We wouldn't have light at night time.
Chinese scientists have created the world's first light-based quantum(量子) computer. It's called Jiuzhang.
The name Jiuzhang comes from an old Chinese math text. Compared with today's best supercomputers, Jiuzhang can work out 100, 000 billion times faster. For example, it takes Jiuzhang only 200 seconds to finish a task that Fugaku, the world's fastest supercomputer, would take about 600 million years to finish.
Quantum machines amazing computing power results from their basic building blocks, called quantum bits, or qubits(量子比特), according to the University of Science and Technology of China. Classical computers usually present data(数据) as either 0 or 1. I low ever, quantum computers use qubits to process data, Qubits can be 0, 1 or anything in between. As a result, as the number of qubits that are being used increases, the computing ability of quantum computers increases, too.
According to Pan Jianwei, one of the main researchers behind Jiuzhang, quantum computing has already become anuria of competition in the world. With Jiuzhang, China has entered the race. Compared to Google's qubit computer, Jiuzhang is easier to make and maintain(维护). Google's qubit computer must be kept at a very cold temperature. But Jiuzhang can work at room temperature.
In the future, Jiuzhang might be used for machine learning and other fields. Lu Chaoyang, another key researcher behind Jiuzhang, told China Daily that scientists will keep increasing Jiuzhang's computing power.
My older sister is a runner. She has always loved to run.
She runs the 10-kilometre race. She is a great runner. She used to be a pretty good sprinter(短跑运动员), but one day all of that changed because of a little mistake she made. She went to practice early in the morning. But she forgot to bring her sports shoes.
Sports shoes are special because they're small and light. When her coach knew that, he got mad. As a punishment, he ordered her to run around the playground. So, she went. Soon, she was running with other people who were on the it long distance(距离)practice runs.
The runners were moving fast. It surprised the coach to see that this girl could keep up. The long-distance coach asked the sprinting coach, "Who is that?" "That's one of my students." he said.
In the end, she came in first in her first time running a long-distance race! The two coaches looked down and realized she wasn't wearing any shoes! "Well, you told me to run and I thought you meant right away, so I just got up and ran, "she explained. "I can't believe how comfortable it is to run without my feet inside those little shoes. "
From that moment on, my sister's sprinting days were over. She was a natural long-distance runner. She works hard and hopes to go to the Olympics one day. Who knows what might happen?
Anita was a girl who grew up in Nepal. It was that point of the year when the sky was blue, and the Sun smiled upon the village. Anita found a lot of tourists visit her village. "What are these people doing here, father?" asked Anita, Anita's father said, "They have all come to climb those mountains."
Amazed at their courage, Anita said, "Really, father? Is it possible to climb to the top?"
"Of course, dear, "replied her father." Many people did it. "
"Someday, I will be able to climb to the highest of these majestic mountains, "said Anita. But Life had other plans for her. Anita lost one leg when she was thirteen.
"I will never be ready to climb those mountains, "cried Anita.
Her father loved her. He couldn't see his little girl in pain. One day Anita's father built her a wooden leg, which she could wear and walk with.
"Never say 'never'. Start climbing the mountains, "said the father.
Anita was beside herself with joy. She wore the wooden leg and walked, and fell, Stood up, and tried to run, and fell again. The whole village laughed at the daddy and daughter's foolishness. But nothing pulled them down. They kept practicing.
After five years Anita made it to the highest of the mountains. And she made her father very proud of her, along with her country.
Never let words of discouragement(泄气) pull you down. Always believe in yourself.
