Kate's Blog Shut up zoos, Not animals! Many people believe that it is fun to visit zoos, but maybe they are wrong because zoos are just jails(监狱)for animals. The difference is that criminals get out after a certain period of time while animals cannot. Animals in cages are boring to look at. Everyone knows what a tiger looks like, and we've seen them on TV. So why make animals suffer (使痛苦) by shutting them up for people's fun? Shut the zoos instead! Posted by: Kate on May 13, at 17: 14 |
Comments 3 Comments * I partly agree. But some zoos aren't for our fun. I have just come back from a zoo in Chengdu, it saves pandas and breeds them because pandas are rare (稀有的) animal. So, I don't think all the zoos are the same. Posted by: Edward on May 14, at 8: 09 *Totally agree! Each time I go to visit the zoo, I never look at the poor animals' eyes because they look so sad and lonely, living in the small and dirty cages. I hope they will all come back to nature in the near future, so they can live happily and freely with their families. Posted by: Jack on May 14, at 11: 43 *In my opinion, I think zoos are amazing places for kids. They can play with animals and have fun there. At the same time, they can learn a lot about animals. Why shut up? Posted by: Daisy on May 15, at 9: 24 |
When I began planning to move to Auckland to study, my mother was worried about the lack (缺乏) of jobs and culture differences. But still I arrived there in June, 2015. After I got there, soon I realized the importance of getting a job for my life and study. I decided to find a job by myself, it took me a few weeks to go to door-to-door for a job, but found no reply.
One afternoon, I entered a building to ask if they had any jobs for me. They suggested that I had better stop the way of finding a job. When I was about to leave, a man asked me to wait outside for a while. Then he came out to encourage me to be positive (积极的). And he said he would take me to Royal Oak to find a job.
I was kind of surprised, but had a good feeling about him. Along the way, I realized I had few of my resumes (简历). Seeing this, the man stopped at another office and made me fifteen more copies. He also gave me some advice on dressing and speaking. I gave out my resumes and went home, feeling very pleased. The next day, I received a call from a store in Royal Oak, they told me they could offer me a job.
It seems that the world always gives back to you when you need it. And this time, it was a stranger who turned out to be real luck. Any time, remember: Never give up.

A museum is a good place to keep old and beautiful things. A museum may be a place to learn about science and a place to find out art or people or animals.
Some museum have old cars and planes. Many museum have pictures and statues(雕像). Others have rocks and old bone. One museum even has a real old street inside. It has shops and people's statues doing business. It looks so real that you might feel that you are back to the old time.
Not only many cities but also some very small towns have museums. Indianapolis(印第安纳波利斯) has a children's museum. Children do not have to pay to get in. Children often go to the museum. They like to look at the dinosaur homes. They see a white bear that is ten feet tall.
On Saturday, children can hear talks about animals and trees in Indianapolis. They see movies. They take hikes. They even learn to make things there.
