It was a rainy night in New Orleans, US. At a bus station, I watched a young girl cry as her baggage was taken down. It seemed she'd lost her ticket. She begged the bus driver not to leave her behind
"Losing your ticket is like losing your money," the bus driver said, and left her in the rain.
But then an old man stood up and blocked the driver's way. "How can you leave that girl out there? You know she had a ticket. You can't just leave her here. You can't leave her in a city where she doesn't have a friend. You will meet your schedule, but she might meet her end.
The driver showed no sign that he'd heard or even cared about the young girl's problem, or how her travels went.
So the old gentleman said, "I'll pay for her fare. I'll give her a little money to help her on her way."
He went and bought the ticket for the girl. "How can I repay the kindness you've shown tonight?" she asked. "We're strangers who won't meet again. A mere ‘thank you doesn't seem right.
The old man said, "What goes around comes around. I've learned this with time. Whatever you give, you always get back. Always be helpful to others and give what you can spare.
a. The old gentleman argued with the driver about his rude behavior.
b. The girl thanked the old gentleman for his kindness to her.
c. The old gentleman bought a ticket with his money for the girl.
d. The girl begged the driver not to leave her behind.

Many people have a fear(害怕) of public speaking. According to a study, it has an influence on 3 in every 4 people. This fact is surprising and worrying, as most jobs require some speaking ability. The following will help you to make a speech better.
Write note cards. Write main ideas on your cards. Don't write details. Put in some fun facts, questions, and other activities on the cards to share with the class. Don't look at your note cards for a long time while speaking. If necessary, you're only going to have a quick look at the card for information, not read every word.
Smile at your class. When it comes time to speak, there's nothing that draws your class into your speech than a good old-fashioned smile. Be happy, because you're about to teach your class something they didn't know before. Studies have shown that smiles are infections. That means once you smile, it's hard for everyone else not to smile. So if you want your speech to go off well, smile. That will make everyone smile and maybe those smiles will make you actually smile.
Make eye contact. Nothing is more boring than listening to a speaker who looks at the floor or at note cards. Relax. Your class is made up of your friends and you talk to them all the time. Talk the same way now. Have a look at every person in the classroom at least once. That way, everyone will feel like you're communicating with them. Also, you know you'll look like what you're talking about.
Use hand motions. Move your hands along as you talk, using them to express your key points and keep the class interested. It will also lead your nervous energy into a better place.
Brenda Bongos was a happy, talented girl. She had one big dream--to play the drums in a band. But one big problem lay in her way. To be good enough to play in a band, Brenda had to practise a lot, but she lived next door to a lot of old people. Many of them are sick. She knew that the sound of beating drums would really get them nervous. So, she had tried playing in the strangest places: a basement, a kitchen, and even in a shower. But there was always someone who would get mad.
One day, while watching a science documentary on TV, she heard that sound cannot travel in space, because there's no air. At that moment, Brenda Bongos decided to become a musical astronaut.
With the help of a lot of time, books and work, Brenda built a space bubble(泡). This was a big glass ball connected to a machine which sucked out(吸出) all the air inside. All that would be left inside was a drum kit(配套设备) and a chair. Brenda got into the space suit she had made, entered the bubble, turned on the machine, and played those drums like a wild child.
It wasn't long before Brenda Bongos became very famous. Many people came to see her play in her space bubble. Shortly afterwards she came out of the bubble and started giving concerts. Her fame(名声, 名望) spread so much that the government suggested that she be part of a special space journey. Finally, ___▲___, and it was far beyond her first dream of playing drums in a band.
Years later, when asked how she had realised all her dreams, she thought for a moment, and said, "If those old people next-door hadn't mattered so much to me, I wouldn't have found a solution(解决), and none of this would have ever happened."
