UFC(终极格斗)— one of the greatest championship fights

China's first-ever UFC world champion Zhang Weili defended her strawweight title with split decision victory over Joanna Jedrzejczyk in Las Vegas on International Women's Day.
It's a difficult journey for Zhang to be there at a difficult time for her country. She left Beijing on February 1st and then she was forced to take detours(绕道) to Thailand and Abu Dhabi. She didn't arrive in the States until February 23rd because of the coronavirus (冠状病毒).
"I don't like people hitting each other with rude language. I don't like any rubbish words in the octagon (八角笼). All fighters deserve respect from one another in the octagon. We should be a model to our young people. We are champions, not wild animals," Zhang said following her victory.
"My country and my people have being fighting against the virus bravely since it outbroke. And now the virus is spreading worldwide, I hope everybody in the world can stand together to fight the virus with an united effort. I just want to say that we can win this fight. And together we will" said Zhang.
If you live in Shanghai, you might have to take a " lesson " in sorting garbage(垃圾), as the city recently introduced new garbage-sorting regulations. (条例).
It is now required that people should sort garbage into four categories, namely recyclable, harmful, dry and wet waste. However, if people fail to sort their garbage properly, they can be fined up to 200 yuan.
"More cities are introducing similar regulations, following the practice in Shanghai. By the end of 2020, garbage-sorting systems will have been built in 46 major Chinese cities, including Beijing and Shenzhen," reported People's Daily. According to a study by the Policy Research-Center for Environment and Economy, under the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, over 90 percent of the public believe that garbage sorting is important for the protection of the environment.
However, garbage sorting is still a big problem in China. Only 30 percent of people who have taken part in it said they think they are sorting their rubbish, the study noted. According to Xinhua News Agency, it's partly because many people lack the willingness to sort their own waste. In the past, some previous(先前的)garbage regulations didn't give clear fines for people who failed to sort garbage.
Aside from China, many other foreign countries have also introduced garbage-sorting regulations. In Japan, waste sorting has become a basic living skill. There is a fixed time for dealing with each kind of garbage and littering can result in high fines and even jail (监狱)time. In Germany, people are asked to sort waste into strict categories. For example, in Berlin, people have yellow bins for plastic and metals and blue bins for paper and cardboard.
As is known to all, "No farmers, no food." Well, we now have a new day of celebration, the Chinese Farmers' Harvest Festival. It's the first in China created especially for farmers.
"The Chinese Farmers' Harvest Festival falls on the Autumnal Equinox each year, starting in 2018," said Han Changfu, the Minister of Agriculture.
The Autumnal Equinox is one of the 24 solar terms in the traditional Chinese calendar. This year, the Autumnal Equinox falls on September 23, one day before the Mid-autumn Festival. It gives people in the city a great chance to travel to the countryside, enjoy the beautiful scenery and celebrate the harvest with farmers. Although climates and crops are different in many parts of China, the harvest time is usually in autumn. This is why the government decided to celebrate this festival on the Autumnal Equinox.
As a major agricultural country, China has the largest number of farmers in the world. And it can produce a large number of agricultural products every year. "I'm sure the festival will become one of the most popular and most important ones around the world," Han said.
Shen Jianhua, a university professor, says farmers should have a special festival since they have made great contributions to our country. Setting up the festival can improve the position of farmers, increase their self-esteem(自尊)and create an environment where they are respected and valued.
I first began experiencing anxiety and depression (焦虑和抑郁) at the age of 14, after being bullied at school for years. While at first anxiety and depression would come and go, it later happened all the time in my life.
I made up my mind to find the solution to overcoming my anxiety and depression that I tried everything from when I was in college to graduate school: mood-changing medication, special teas, yoga, things I read about in books, and advice given by doctors. Although I tried many methods, I still felt I hadn't even come close to managing the problem.
But one afternoon, I saw an article in a magazine that talked about how dogs were able to help people with anxiety and depression. The next day, I decided to get a dog — a corgi (柯基犬).
When I bought my little corgi, Buddy, home, I didn't realize how much he would change my life. It didn't happen right away, however.
Once the "puppy excitement" went away, my anxiety and depression came back as usual. One morning, I woke up with those familiar feelings again. I didn't want to get out of bed. I turned to pull the covers back over my head and give up. That's when I saw Buddy. Buddy started jumping all over me, licking my face, letting me know that it was time to go outside. It was as if he were saying, "There's no time to be sad. The world is amazing!" And for the first time in my life, on a day when my anxiety and depression were strong, I got out of bed. I put on my winter clothes and went for a walk in the snow with my new friend. I realized at that moment, walking down the street in winter, my life was changing. I really was a new person. This was my new beginning; my missing puzzle piece.
It's been more than a year since that day, and I've never spent another morning unable to get out of bed. I've not cried myself to sleep or spent my days stuck with fear and regret. Sure, I still have days when I feel sad or anxious. But with Buddy by my side, I've finally learned how to manage these feelings and emotions.
① I bought a corgi. ② I became depressive. ③ I walked with Buddy in the snow. ④ I was bullied. ⑤ I went to college. ⑥ I can manage my feelings.
As we know, everyone can make mistakes, but don't worry about it. The following is what we should do when we make mistakes.
Don't think that our mistakes are caused by others. Be brave and face the fact that we have made the mistakes. Don't blame other people and don't cheat ourselves, either.
It's necessary to make a plan of action and correct the mistake according to it.
In order to stop the problem from getting worse, we should take actions quickly to solve it. If we don't act and deal with the problem quickly, it'll only make us feel more stressed.
Those who have made the most mistakes are more likely to be successful, for they are the ones who have learned the most. The more we learn from our mistakes, the clever we are.
What caused us to make the mistake? How can we avoid making the same mistake in the future? When we act with a method to get a good result, do it that way next time. If we don't , we should stop, think about it and try again.
A. Realize that making mistakes is the best way to learn.
B. Stay away from stress.
C. Just admit it.
D. Solve it at once.
E. Decide quickly and act.
F. Think about what we can learn from our mistakes.
I was walking home from school one day and it happened to be a particularly cold and windy day. It was 1 and I was crazy enough to forget my hats and scarf. You can imagine my face was rosy red and my hands were not able to feel anything.
All of a sudden an old lady drove up beside me and asked if I would like a ride 2. At first I said it was not OK but then her warm smile melted away the thought that I was not supposed to talk to 3! We had an amazing chat and she was just such a 4 woman. She told me her 5 and she dropped me off.
I didn't see her for about a month and one night I decided to return the favor(帮忙). So, I made a lot of 6 and walked down to her house with my friend. At first I was a bit 7 she wouldn't remember me or think that I was a bad man who poisoned cookies, but, 8, I was completely wrong. She was so happy, and she hugged me and kissed me and seemed so shocked that anyone would do 9 like that!
When I got home my mom told me that she 10 and told my mom that she cried because she was so touched. She said she would never 11 the kindness that was given to her! That filled me with such 12!
There really is nothing else like helping 13 and making someone's day 14!
Let us never forget the joy we get 15 giving others a hand or just the kindness.
Cassie lived a lonely life. She would hang around the forest, eating (fall) fruits while other birds flew among the tree.
"Why cannot you fly?"they would ask."Your weak little (wing) cannot even lift you off the ground. You're shame to birds!" they would laugh at her.
Cassie was feeling pretty frustrated and (hope), so she made up her mind to leave the forest for good. Just as she walked free from trees, she heard a deep voice (call) from behind. Cassie turned . It was a large tree that asked her to come back into the forest. "We depend on you (eat) our fruits and spread our seeds. The other birds may think you are useless, but you are actually(use) bird in the forest. Please don't go , you are important and irreplaceable." Cassie felt so good and then (return) to the forest. The fruits had never tasted so good.
It's easy to compare your skills to the abilities of others and feel unhappy. It's easy to listen to the negative voices of others and believe them. remember in mind that you are important, you are excellent, and you are irreplaceable.
