Mathematics
British data scientist Richard Mann of London was talking with his daughter about the popularity of Worlle. He thought there should be a game for people who like mathematics and developed Nerdle. It's a daily game in which a player has six tries to guess a math solution.
Math teachers note that a Nerdle player uses logic, a careful way of thinking about something, to solve a math problem. It's similar to how a Wordle player applies logic to guessing a word.
Geography
French video game developer Antoine Teuf invented Worldle in honor of that word game, Wordle.
Players guess a country based on its shape. They get six tries to guess a country based on information about the country. Teuf first shared the game on January 22. He said there would be two million visits a day to the game's page a month later.

Teachers of English see word games as a useful way for students to learn new words. Such word games include Blooket and Flippity.
Teachers create quizzes in Blooket similar to the kinds of games students play on mobile devices. They can look at results and see areas that students can improve.
In Flippity, teachers can create flash cards, rewards, spelling quizzes, memory games and word searches from a simple Google spreadsheet. It's also a good tool for students to create their own projects.

Unlike Chinese girls, Western girls think a more mature look shows independence and uniqueness. The superhero Wonder Woman is an ideal type for most.

Time to load up some popular games: new research indicates pigs possess the mental capability to play video games. The study, published in Frontiers in Psychology, tested the ability of four pigs (Hamlet, Omelette, Ebony and Ivory) to play a simple joystick (操纵杆) game with their noses, moving a cursor (光标) to four targets on the screen. Although the animals didn't demonstrate the skills to win a round any time, they did show an understanding of some elementary games. Performing well not by chance, the pigs appeared to recognize the movement of the cursor was controlled by the joystick. The fact that they did so well despite a lack of flexible fingers is "extraordinary", according to the researchers.
"It is no small achievement for an animal to grasp the concept that the behaviour they are performing is having an effect elsewhere. That pigs can do this to any degree should give us pause as to what else they are capable of learning and how such learning may impact them, "said Purdue University's Dr Candace Croney, the study's lead author.
Researchers also noted that while the pigs could be taught to play the game using food as positive motivation, they also responded well to social interaction. In fact, when the game was made more challenging and the pigs became unwilling to participate in it, "only oral encouragement by the experimenter" would see training continue.
These findings are the latest to highlight the intelligence of pigs. Not only have they been shown to use mirrors to find hidden food, but studies have also demonstrated how pigs can be taught to "come" and "sit" after oral commands.
As with any sentient (有感觉力的) beings, how we interact with pigs and what we do to them impacts and matters to them. We therefore have a moral duty to understand how pigs acquire information, and what they are capable of learning and remembering, because it ultimately offers the potential for how they understand their interactions with us and their environments.
The term "Metaverse" (元宇宙)is the latest buzzword (流行语) to capture the tech industry's imagination — so much so that one of the best-known internet platforms is rebranding to signalits embrace of the futuristic idea.
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg's announcement that he's changing his company's name to Meta Platforms Inc. might be the biggest thing to happen to the metaverse since science fiction writer Neal Stephenson coined the term for his 1992 novel "Snow Crash". But Zuckerberg and his team are hardly the only tech visionaries with ideas on how the metaverse, which will employ a mix of virtual reality and other technologies, should take shape.
What is the metaverse? Zuckerberg has described it as a "virtual environment" you can go inside of — instead of just looking at on a screen. Essentially, it's a world of endless, interconnected virtual communities where people can meet, work and play, using virtual reality headsets and glasses, smartphone or other devices. The metaverse also could be a game -changer for the work-from-home shift amid the coronavirus pandemic. Instead of seeing co-workers on a video call, employees could join them in a virtual office.
Zuckerberg's embrace of the metaverse in some ways contradicts a central tenet (信条) of its biggest enthusiasts. They envision the metaverse as online culture's liberation from tech platforms like Facebook that assumed ownership of people's accounts, photos, posts and traded off what they collected from that data. I'm a student at the College of Visual and Performing Arts where we create all kinds of art every day. But I don't think those people truly know the difficulties and struggles in the process of making art.
First of all, we need to be inspired. You may think that's easy. In fact, anything can serve as a concept of a work of art. Sometimes we will need people, volunteers, bodies to do so and finding willing people to work is hard. Other times we have a clear idea of what we want but we don't know how to make other people fully understand what we're trying to get at.
We need a space to be able to be creative and that can be tricky to acquire. Sometimes we need art supplies or certain equipment and costumes and that can cost money. Even if we do acquire what we need, visions change and mistakes happen so we might not end up using the resources.
The process can take weeks, months, and even years to be fully realized. Once completed, we need to share it and find an audience and provide an environment to display our work. What if nobody likes what we created? What if our vision isn't what we thought though completed?
Creating art is an art in itself. It is really not as easy as many people think. It's how we express ourselves and how we communicate with the rest of the world.
