Students will use computers and e-textbooks. E-textbooks will be like a disk(硬盘). So instead of carrying lots of heavy textbooks, students will only carry a few disks and read books from them. Learning will become easier and more interesting.

I think multimedia(多媒体) will help schools. We don't need to buy new dictionaries as often, because the school will buy a few sets of multimedia software(软件). There will be lots of e-dictionaries in them. Those will be enough for the whole school.

Teachers will use movies, tapes, TVs and multimedia to teach. Students will be able to take classes by watching TV or on the Internet without a classroom teacher.

What is the sky? How high is it? What colour is it? These questions are difficult to answer, aren't they? In fact, the sky has no colour. Then why does the sky look blue?
We know that there is air around the world. When planes fly, they need air to lift their wings. Planes can't fly very high. That is because the air gets thinner when they go higher. The same will happen to us if we go high enough. If we go up about 1,200 kilometres from the earth, we'll find no air there. Some birds can fly into the sky as high as a plane, but they cannot fly or live without air.
Looking up above us, you will see the blue sky with white clouds. It is usually light blue. The colour would be bluer when you see on the top of a high mountain. And you will see fewer clouds in the sky between you and the Sun. Sometimes the sky doesn't look blue. When the Sun rises and falls, you will see red, orange and other colours in the sky. Such are the most beautiful moments of the day.
Who can see the colours of the sky high above the earth? The astronauts(宇航员)! They can see those beautiful colours of the sky from the outer space. However, before flying into outer space, they sit in a spaceship high above the earth and there is no air at all. The sky would be that dark and its colour would be black.
Now you may understand that we see colours because the air scatters(使散射) the sunlight. Light travels through the air. Without air there would be no colours.
One day, a woman walked into a pet store to buy a bird for her Thanksgiving Day party. The guy said, “We only have one parrot. But I think you do not want it because it can talk…”
The woman said happily, “That's great. I've always wanted a talking bird. ”
So the guy said, “Since you are a nice lady, I'll give it to you as a gift. ”
And the lady went home and put the bird on her bed and walked out of the room. But as soon as she walked into the kitchen, the bird started to speak dirty words as loud as it could. The woman walked back into the room thinking, “I can't have this at my party!” So she took the bird and put it in the fridge.
A few hours later, while the woman was eating, she remembered that her bird was still in the fridge. Quickly, she opened the door and found it was shivering. Then she took out the bird at once. She said to the bird, “I'll keep you out of there if you don't use that language again. Do you agree with me?”
The bird nodded and asked, “Can I just ask a quick question?” The lady nodded and said, “Yes, you may. ”
The bird pointed at the turkey behind him and asked, “What did he do?”
I am Canadian. I started learning French when I was 10 years old. But my whole experience with the language was in the classroom. All of that changed, however, during my last summer of high school. As a 17-year-old girl, I flew across the country by myself for the first time! I headed for Quebec to live in the province with a French-speaking host family, who didn't speak any English. And I would learn French at a local school.
On the first day of school, the local school gave us students a test to determine(测定)our language level. We were required to speak only French all summer.
I made every effort to communicate in a second language by making new friends, seeing movies and even ordering food from restaurants in French. Though I couldn't understand most of it at the very beginning, the whole experience was exciting and refreshing.
On weekends, my classmates and I took trips to different places around the province. On one trip, we went whale watching on the St. Lawrence River. Even though it was raining, we could see huge whales swimming around our boat. The most unforgettable(令人难忘的) part of our trip was a visit to historic Quebec City. I walked along the stone streets, took pictures of the European-style(欧式的)buildings, and learned some stories there.
Finally my efforts paid off! At the end of the summer, I was able to communicate pretty well. I couldn't wait to go back to school and talk with my French teacher. Being fully lost in a French-speaking environment was a valuable learning experience. And it could be the main reason for my improvement in French.
Hobbies are activities, which we do in our free time. There are so many kinds of hobbies one can choose for his or her own. Some hobbies are really expensive, and some are even dangerous.
The most popular hobbies in our country are as follows:
Collecting hobbies We can collect a lot of things. Usually people collect stamps, postcards or coins. Some people collect unusual things like old cars, old motorbikes or other interesting things, which could be very expensive.
Art hobbies Going to the theatre, concert, opera; playing some instruments; painting, writing poetry. There are many clubs—such as singing, dancing, etc.
Sports games Everybody does some sport activities—sport can keep us fit. Many students join a sports club—basketball, volleyball or swimming.
The other popular hobby is watching TV or a video, playing computer or video games, but it is not good for your eyes and your mind. Many people like to spend their free time reading books, magazines and newspapers. Some people like listening to music better.
Many students would like to make use of their hobbies in their future jobs, e. g. working with computer, but it is not so easy. Hobbies are very important for everybody. A man would be very poor and not be pleased without a hobby.

Animals are man's friends, but many people don't treat them as friends. People kill animals for their fur, for food and for fun. People destroy(摧毁)forests(make) more space for buildings and roads. This makes many animals lose their food and homes. Every day, lots of animals lose their because of people.
All kinds of animals are in(dangerous). They may out one day if people don't stop (kill)them. And once they disappear(消失), they will never return any more!
Every animal has its place in (natural). People should learn to share the world with them. (luck), many people are doing something to make the world a better place for both man and animals. And Many countries pass laws, too. If more people start (care ) about animals, animals(live) a happier life. I do believe there will be a(good) future for animals.
