What can you do?
If someone is not kind to you, tell an adult that you know and like. For example, talk to a parent or a teacher.
If you get bad messages, don't reply. You should save them and give them to your teacher, your family, or the police. Ask an adult for help. Don't share something before you make sure it is true. That will help stop the cyberbullying.
Talk to your parent or teacher or an adult if you see bullying or if you are worried about a friend.
Say sorry if you are not kind to someone. You can write a message or talk to the person.
And always remember: think about how to be kind in the future.

My husband and I used to live in the city, but we often faced a lot of problems there. There was a lot of late-night noise. It was difficult to find parking. And the rent of the apartment was high. Finally, my husband and I decided to move to the suburbs (郊区) outside Boston.
We started looking for our new home. It turned out that many other people were also moving to the suburbs and it wasn't easy to find a nice house there. Finally, we went to see a small and dark house. It needed a lot of work. But it was well built and it was on a street where we could walk to Starbucks, restaurants and bus stops. Well, before I knew it, we had made an offer and the house became ours.
On our first night in the house I cried for five hours. I thought we had made the wrong choice and I wanted to go back to the city. The house was smelly and old. And many families and old people lived around it. But after thinking of the problems we had when we were living in the city, I calmed down. Besides, our new home wasn't that bad, after all. I had a driveway of my own. There were three big bedrooms and a backyard for my dog. Oh, how lovely the sound of nothing was. I changed the house inch by inch and it became a very comfortable home.
We have been in our house for over two years until now and it's the best move we have ever made. While I'm glad I can drive into the city in 15 minutes and enjoy all it has offered, I'm always happy to return home.
Technology is everywhere. Almost all of us carry some piece of technology with us every time. It's true to say that technology makes our lives easier. However, scientists are saying that we need to give ourselves a break—otherwise we put ourselves at risk of developing hundreds of health problems. With all this free time, why not put it to good use and do something without technology?
To start with, you could learn a new skill. There are hundreds of possibilities: crafts(工艺), cooking, learning a musical instrument or a new sport. Maybe you've always wanted to learn to cook for your family, but haven't had time? Perhaps you feel like learning how to knit(编织), so you can have a new sweater for the autumn? You could use your free time to learn something new—and perhaps it will lead to an exciting chance in the future.
If you just want to relax, why not go to a beach? Take along your favorite book and relax on the sand, or go for a walk along the coastline. If you don't live near a beach, you could go to your local park. Why not take along a picnic, or try and discover some of the local wildlife?
Little things, like challenging yourself to complete a crossword or a Sudoku, are a great place to start. You could even follow the latest fashion: adult coloring books! Coloring is amazing, and it can be a nice way to escape from the pressure of modern life!
Whatever you choose to do with your summer, try something new! You might surprise yourself and find a hidden talent within you; you might make new friends along the way. Next time you find yourself aimlessly switching channels, have a think at what else you could spend your time doing.
Gardening is popular in many parts of the world. This outdoor activity gives us beautiful plants, pleasant smelling flowers and fresh fruits and vegetables. And it also does a lot of good to our health.
Gardening connects people. When you are gardening, you are outdoors. So it is a perfect chance to meet and spend time with your neighbors. Most people love to talk about their hobbies, and gardeners are no different. They usually enjoy showing people what they are growing. And most enjoy sharing advice and stories about their gardens almost as much as sharing flowers and vegetables from their gardens.
Gardening is a great activity for children. It gets them outdoors and off computers, televisions and cell phones. Gardening is also a great teacher. It can teach a child about where food comes from and healthy eating. It also helps them to understand that the natural resources (资源) are not endless and the importance of using them carefully.
Then, when you garden, you must move around. All the different movements needed for gardening, like bending and lifting, work small muscles (肌肉) in the body. And you can easily get good exercise when you are digging holes or pulling grasses.
In a study, researchers looked at more than 2, 800 people over the age of 60. They studied their lifestyle habits, activities and health over a 16-year period. They found that gardening could lower the risk of future dementia (痴呆) by 36%. Gardening requires people do many repeated actions, such as picking off dying flowers. These actions have a calming influence on the brain. The brain is still active but not in the same way when we use computers. You'll be wonderful when what you grow in a garden looks, smells, feels and tastes good.
How to Better Yourself
You're a wonderful person just as you are, but everyone wants to be better. This is good! Bettering yourself improves your quality of life and gives you something to work towards. However, sometimes you need some help or inspiration. Don't worry: we've got your back!
Bring creativity into your life. Being more creative and the act of creating things can be a positive experience in your life. You can draw pictures, make sculptures, write, dance, sing, sew your own clothes or find other creative choices. No matter what it is that encourages your creativity, you only get better with practice.
Travel to gain experience. If you can only travel within your country, that's okay, just make sure you're experiencing a very different kind of life rather than the one you're used to. Travel abroad if you can, especially in a place where you don't speak the language.
Educate yourself. Another great way to better yourself is to get more education. There has been a revolution of free learning resources on the Internet. You can pick up a skill, like computer programming or another language, or you can educate yourself on broader topics, like politics or education.
Helping other people will give you perspective, make you more respectful, increase your enjoyment of life, give you a sense of fulfillment, and obviously provide some good to the lives of people who really need it. You can volunteer for whatever cause speaks to you, volunteering locally, or even abroad. There are lots of options, such as homeless shelters, nursing homes and Habitat for Humanity.

"Fire! Fire!" What terrible words to hear when I1in a strange house in the middle of the night! It was a large, 2 house — the sort that burns easily — and my room was on the top floor. I jumped out of bed, opened the door and stepped out into the passage. It was full of 3.
I began to 4, but as I was still only half awake, instead of going towards the stairs I went in the opposite direction. The smoke grew thicker and I found it hard to5. The floor became 6under my feet. I ran into another room and tried to reach the window for fresh air. Suddenly, one of my feet got caught in something 7and I fell down. The thing I had fallen over felt like a package of clothes, and I picked it up to protect my 8 from the smoke and heat. Just then the floor broke under me and I fell through to the floor below with pieces of 9 wood all around me.
10, there was a doorway in front, so I put the package over my face and ran. My feet were terribly burned, but I 11. As I reached the cold air outside, my package of clothes gave a 12. I nearly dropped it in my surprise. Then I saw there were many people in the street. A woman screamed (尖叫) as she saw me and came running13.
"My baby! My baby! "she cried. Those people cheered loudly 14 she took the smoke blackened package out of my arms. I almost failed to see who she was — my boss's wife. I had15 her baby, and I became a hero!
I was always told that the three Ps, patience, positive thinking and perseverance (毅力), were a sure path success. But this advice does not always work as planned. My high school maths exam is one example. The exam, was originally to be held in our classroom, (change) to the library at the last minute. This, , didn't bother me because maths had always been my strongest subject. I patiently walked to the library, took my seat and did some deep breathing to help relax (I).
But my mood quickly changed when I saw first question. I had no idea how to do it. I tried to stay positive and persevered I finally found the solution. With the problem (solve), I felt proud of my achievement. (fortunate), I then noticed that I had just 10 minutes left (complete) the rest.

Jenny was the only child in her family. She had a quarrel with her mother that afternoon and she ran out of the house angrily. She couldn't help weeping sorrowfully when she thought of the scolding (责骂) from her mother. Having wandered aimlessly in the street for hours, she felt a little hungry and wished for something to eat. She stood beside a stand for a while, watching the middle-aged seller busy doing his business. However, with no money in hand, she gave a sigh and had to leave.
The seller behind the stand noticed the young girl and asked, "Hey, girl, you want to have the noodles?"
"Oh, yes, but I don't have money on me, " she replied.
"That's nothing! I'll treat you today," said the man. "Come in."
The seller brought her a bowl of noodles, the smell so attractive. As she was eating, Jenny cried silently.
"What is it?" asked the man kindly.
"Nothing. Actually I was just touched by your kindness!" said Jenny as she wiped her tears. "Even a stranger in the streeet would give me a bowl of noodles while my mother drove me out of the house. She showed no care for me. She is so merciless (残忍的) compared to a stranger!"
Hearing the words, the seller smiled, "Girl, do you really think so? I only gave you a bowl of noodles and you thanked me a lot. But it is your mother who has raised you since you were a baby. Can you number the times she cooked for you? Have you expressed your gratitude to her?"
Jenny sat there, speechless and numb (呆滞的) with shock; She remembered her mother's familiar face and weathered hands. "Why didn't I think of that? A bowl of noodles from a stranger made me feel indebted (感激的). Why haven't I thanked my mum for what she has done for me?"
On the way home, Jenny made up her mind to make an apology to her mother for her rudeness as soon as she arrived home.
