Chinese schools often have parents' meetings. They help1know about their children's school work.
In our school, the parents' meeting is on the first2afternoon of a new school year. The next day is weekend,3teachers and parents have enough time for a good talk. The meeting starts at 6:00 p.m. and most parents can come after4.
On parents' meetings, teachers talk5parents. Teachers meet one or two of the parents at a time. These meetings are very short, maybe five or ten6. These face-to-face talks are very 7 for teachers, parents and students.
In our school, students can listen to the talks. They can sit near their parents.8do you feel when you hear your teachers and parents talk about you? I don't feel9, because I am good at all my10.

What is a gentleman? The girls have their ideas:
Huang Xiaoyu of Guizhou: A gentleman doesn't often get angry. He wants others to be well and happy. He is always ready to help. There is a boy in my class and I think he is a gentleman. If I don't do well in the English test, he will say," You will do better next time."That makes me feel happy.
Chen Tingting of Shenzhen: A gentleman always says," Ladies first." When students clean up the classroom, he does the heavy work. He lets girls go into rooms first. There are no gentlemen in my class. When there is something to eat, the boys in my class always get them before girls!
What is a lady？Boys tell us what they think a lady is:
Wang Junkai of Chongqing: A lady is quiet and kind, but she's not shy(害羞) and she can talk about her ideas in front of others. To me, Zhao Liying, a film star, is a lady. She is pretty and kind. She does a lot for others.
Wang Lichao of Tianjin: A lady is not just beautiful but clever. She never says bad words. She is quiet and kind to others. I don't think there is a lady in my class. Most of the girls are wild beauties, I think.

In Thailand(泰国)，there are many elephants. They are very useful. They can carry heavy things so they can help people do a lot of hard work. And they are very clever. They can act and dance. Sometimes they can play with people. Many people go to Thailand to have fun with the elephants. It's very interesting.
But do you know there is a festival for the elephants in Thailand? It is called Elephant Day. It comes at the third weekend of November. On that day, the elephants don't work or act. They can have a good rest. People give them much good food like fruit and vegetables. People also have some activities for them. On that day, the elephants can wear colourful clothes and eat nice food. They enjoy themselves a lot then.
