Remember the delicious pizza that you created? For most of us, it takes a long time to learn how to make something tasty, but not for Remmi Smith. Still a teenager, she's already creating fantastic dishes. She's also becoming well known for her Italian salad dressing, which is delicious. And with her knowledge of social media (媒体), she's making sure that everyone knows she's here!

 Remmi, who was born in China, now lives in the USA. She is just 16. She has already starred in two shows on cooking and her book of healthy recipes has recently come out. From the age of four, Remmi helped in the kitchen by preparing vegetables. By the age of seven, Remmi was a real food lover who could cook complete meals for her family. Remmi began making videos for fun. Her mother videoed her while she was cooking and put the videos online. A local TV station broadcast (播放) them. They then asked Remmi to create another show for them.  

That show is mainly about Remmi's interest, which is getting teenagers to take healthy eating seriously. She believes that when young people make their own food, they care more about what they eat. Remmi works with a company in the USA which shows her videos in school dining halls. About 3.5 million students watch her every day!

Remmi believes that young people can create a healthy meal for their family which doesn't cost a lot. Her delicious recipes include vegetable paella and strawberry kebabs. In fact, strawberries, which are Remmi's favorite food, appear in other recipes, including strawberry sandwich!

 Her latest idea is a healthy-snack service. For a monthly subscription (订购), you receive snacks, which include fruit sticks and popcorn, and fun cooking activities that help you develop a healthy lifestyle.  

 Cyclocross is cross-country bicycle racing. Racers spend only part of a race on their bikes because only part of the two-mile race is smooth. Other parts of the race have the challenge of obstacles (障碍). When racers reach them, they can ride over them, or pick up their bikes and run.  

 To be a top racer, you must dismount without slowing down at all. To do this, swing your right leg over the bike seat. At the same time, move the bike away from your body. This makes room for your right foot to hit the ground next to your left foot. As your right foot nears the ground, take your left foot away from the bike. Put both feet on the ground and start running! 

As soon as you are running, you have to decide what to do with your bike. You may shoulder it or lift it. It's important to practice both skills. Sometimes you need to run fast and jump over some obstacles. As your feet hit the ground, you reach down and catch the bottom of your bike. Lift up carefully and keep the bike on your right shoulder while you run. Sometimes you may lift your bike. You catch the top of your bike. Then you lift the bike high enough to get over the obstacles and carefully put the bike on the ground.

 After you have carried your bike across an obstacle, you will need to remount. As soon as your bike is on the ground, push off with your left leg, swing your right leg over the bike seat, and move into riding position. Remounting can be the hardest skill of cyclocross. You can learn by watching someone who remounts well.  

 Cyclocross is a great way to stay active and have fun. However, it can be dangerous. Make sure that you are well prepared. Then, you will just need to go! 

We all enjoy being part of a group-there's no better work than teamwork, right? Actually, I disagree. Teamwork can be hard. In fact, it was so difficult that I left my office job and started working from home on my own. It's a much better fit for me, and it has made me think about why teamwork can make our jobs harder rather than easier.

Personalities (个性) can make teamwork difficult. There's often someone on the team that puts their needs first. The team often goes along with this person, whose ideas might not be the best, just the loudest. Just one difficult personality can make teamwork hard. Combine (结合) several challenging personality types, and it's even harder.

 Not having enough time together can also make teamwork challenging. For example, I was once on a team where we never had enough time to meet as a group. To successfully work as a team, you need time together-and lots of it.  

A final reason teamwork is difficult is because there's often no training on how to work on a team. You can't just put people in a room and expect them to work well with each other. You need to build trust with your team members. Think of football players: They aren't just given a ball and told to play. They practice, and they train.

Team can be hard, but working alone has its challenges, too. When my computer doesn't work, I don't have an IT person to turn to. When I have a great idea, I don't have anyone to share it with to see if it really is a great idea. Don't get me wrong-I still like my team of one and enjoy making all of the important decisions myself. But now I realize what was wrong with the teamwork I did in the past and how good teamwork could be if done correctly. And that's useful information-because one day I might want to turn my ME TEAM into a WE TEAM.

 What Makes A Movie A Hit? 

 Some stars have fans who will go and see any movie they are in. However, not all movies that have big stars in them are successful, and using famous actors can be expensive! 

There are lots of movies which come from books, comics, computer games or TV shows. Just think of Harry Potter, Wonder Woman, X-Men, Star Wars, etc. People already love these, so they can't wait to see the movie.

 Before people go and see a movie, they often check to see what others write or talk about it in the newspapers or on the websites. Also, people who love a movie will tell their friends how good it is.  

 This is really important. As well as posters, most big movies will now have a website that gives extra information about the movie. Also, when a new movie comes out, the stars of the movie usually travel around the world and give interviews to get people interested in the movie.  

 Awards (奖) like the Oscars and the Golden Globes let people know which movies are good to watch. A movie that gets an award often becomes much more popular than before.  

 In February 2007, about two hundred paragliders were in Australia to prepare for the World Championship. They included Ewa Wisnierska, a German paragliding champion (冠军). One morning, as the  1  were getting ready to take off, they noticed that a terrible storm was coming. However, they decided to  2 . After all, these were the best paragliders in the world. 

 Unluckily, as the competitors took off, the weather quickly became  3 . Ewa tried to get away from the storm, but two huge  4  came together and caught her.  

The clouds pulled Ewa up inside the storm like a leaf in the 5 . She flew higher and higher, with lightning (闪电) and hailstones (冰雹) all around her. "I was 6 ," she told reporters afterwards. "The last thing I 7 , it was dark. I could hear lightning all around me." She 8 to about 10,000 meters high and then lost all her senses. At that height, the temperature was about -40℃.

 After forty minutes Ewa woke up. She was still inside the storm. It was dark and hailstones were  9  past. They were as big as tennis balls. Finally, Ewa came out of the storm cloud and  10  towards a small farm and landed  11 . She fell to the ground, too  12  to call for help. When her team  13  her, she was 60 km away from the place where she took off. She was covered in ice-but alive! 

Ewa was sent to a (an) 14 for treatment at once, but a few days later, she competed in the World Championship. "Flying is too fantastic to stop 15 an accident," she said.

 Traffic School 

Have you ever driven through a red traffic light? Have you ever parked in the wrong place or driven (fast) than the speed limit (限制)? The answers are probably "yes". Every year (thousand) of drivers become "offenders"-they break the rules of the road. But are the punishments for this offence?

In most countries drivers have to pay a fine (罚款), (usual) $100-$300. But in the USA, Australia and some (Europe) countries offenders also get points on their driving license. After they get certain number of points, they can't drive.

Life is difficult when you can't drive. So far some states in the USA (introduce) a new way to avoid this-Traffic School. Offenders have a choice: They can get points on their license they can do a course at Traffic School.

Traffic Schools run "driver improvement courses". They cost about $100 and take from four twelve hours. Most people do the course in a classroom, but in some states drivers can do the course online. Drivers learn the rules of the road and they learn how (be) better drivers. They don't have to take a driving test, but at the end of the course they have to pass a written examination.
