Are you good at math? How about writing poems or painting beautiful pictures? Do you love to sing? It all depends on whether you are a "right-brain" or a "left-brain" person.
The human brain is a truly amazing organ (器官). It's not easy to study the brain, but science is slowly beginning to understand how it works.
The brain is divided into two parts: the left side and the right side. Some people use the left side of the brain more than the right. Others use the right side more than the left.
Left-brain people are good at math, science and reading. They do well in school. They can easily focus on detailed tasks. They like to work independently, and often enjoy studying alone. Right-brain people are more artistic. They love music and singing. They like to be around lots of people. They don't like to sit still.
Mind mapping (思维导图) is designed to use both sides of your brain-mind mapping involves your right and left brain thinking. Our ability to speak and communicate seems to have its origin in the unlikely pairing of the left brain and the right hand.
The fact that you use one side of your brain more doesn't mean that you don't use the other side. It just means that you prefer one side to the other. One way is not better than the other. It only shows the way you learn best.
①What will the world of the future be like? There are plenty of people who are happy to give their opinion of what we will be doing in 2050. Here are two predictions about the world of tomorrow.
②When we dream about the future, many like to think of owning a personal flying car. The advantages are obvious. This technology would allow total freedom of movement. We could fly at 480 km per hour, avoiding traffic lights and busy roads. However, some people believe there will be problems with traffic control. If the cars become popular, there is likely to be an air traffic jam. Another big problem is mechanical failure (机械故障). What will happen if the cars stop working? These are problems we must expect if flying cars become a reality.
③Three-dimensional printing is another new technology with possibilities. 3D printers are used to build an object with liquid plastic. They build the object layer by layer until it is complete. Car companies already use 3D printers to make life-size models of car parts, and medical companies use the technology to make man-made body parts. As we move into the future, 3D printing will revolutionize (革新) the way we shop, the way we (制造) products and the way we treat sick people. The disadvantage is that such equipment will be extremely expensive.
④So in the future, we might be able to fly to work or print out new shoes. Although there are some problems to solve before this will be possible, we can certainly dream of a world where technology makes life easier and safer for millions of people.
When my oldest son was in high school, he planned to attend a concert with his young friends. To my surprise. Aron invited me to go along. I quickly accepted. However, by the time the date of the concert arrived, my youngest son had been ill, and I was worried about him. My husband encouraged me to attend the concert, promising he would look after our youngest son. Finally, it hit me. Aron was 16 years old. How many years would I have to do something fun with him before he went to college? And how many youths invite their mothers to attend a concert with them that was clearly for teens? The decision was made. I'd not miss this chance.
At the concert, I sat with Aron the third row, stuffing (填满) cotton in my ears to block out the loud music of the first performer. I stood when the kids stood, clapped (鼓掌) when they clapped, and never let anyone know how nervous I was to feel the floor shaking under my feet. Aron and his friends were amazed at my enthusiasm (热情).
When we left the concert, my ears were ringing, but it quickly passed. So did my son's teenage years. Soon, he was in college and away from home. I missed him more than I could say. On days when I was especially lonely for his happy smile, I would think back to the concert we attended and myself again that didn't miss a chance to spend time with my son.
Aron is now grown and has a family of his own, but we are still very close. Some days he calls just to chat and tell me about his day. I drop everything and enjoy the moment, knowing these times shall pass.

Recently, the Japanese government has discharged (排放) nuclear wastewater into the Pacific Ocean, which caused a hot . A great number of people criticized (批判) that this act went science and threatened the livelihoods of fishing community. From my point of view, it would do great to the health of people all over the world through the food chain. It sounds foolish to solve this problem by polluting the Pacific Ocean.
However, of all options (选择) to deal with the wastewater, its way for Japanese government to dump it into the Pacific Ocean. So all of countries should unite in protecting our environment, and the Japanese government should take people's views before it is too late.
