Sitting in the classroom,I felt confused. Our teacher pointed at the blackboard and gave us instructions. Looking around, I found my classmates lower their1 and started writing. My heart was filled with fear ﹣ I couldn't read the board, because I couldn't see it clearly. It didn't 2 at primary school because my teachers always read aloud3 they were writing. But now, I had to read on my own.
Mum took me to a 4 . He said that I had a terrible eyesight problem. I was5 blind. He gave me6 but they didn't help much. Although the life was difficult,I surprisingly managed to, reach the age of 13!As a kid living on a farm,I was7 falling over because I could only see the outlines of different things.
Not wanting to let my problem hold me back, I 8 doing everything I loved, such as milking the cows. Over the years, I've enjoyed lovely family holidays, 9 sometimes I felt like my families protected me too much. Therefore, I was10 when I heard about a travel company. It would take those who were blind or have poor sight to Australia by themselves. Immediately I booked a ticket onto a trip to the 11 . It was fantastic to enjoy different places, such as beaches and seaside theme parks, 12 tourists who were just like me. And the kind guides were good at supporting us through all the way while making sure 13 had a fun and safe time. From then on, I've travelled with them a lot. While we 14 see the sights like others, our imagination takes us to wonderful places. I don't want people to feel sorry for me. I'm so lucky to have a great family and lots of adventures.
Life is15 , and you don't need sight to "see"that.

Tea has a long history with more than two thousand years. Its hometown is certainly China.
At first, tea was considered as a kind of good thing that could make people awake so that they could study comfortably. Many knowledgeable people thought it was helpful for their study, because their minds could keep awake after drinking too much tea. During the Tang Dynasty, tea was sent to European countries first through the Silk Road. It was tea that made Chinese culture spread over in Western countries. The first book about tea was The Classic of Tea by Lu Yu in the Tang Dynasty. In the book, he described all the tea cultures.
However, the tea culture changed into a kind of new form. Many people could find something bad in it in the Song Dynasty. Many people spent much time on it instead of thinking about the safety of their country. Between the end of the Yuan Dynasty and the beginning of the Qing Dynasty, plenty of people paid more attention to tea. People thought of it as the symbol of spirit.
Nowadays, tea has become the most gentle and comfortable drink in France. It also becomes a helpful drink that is good for people's skin and health in England. Lots of Chinese look on tea as one of the most popular presents that they give others on important festivals.
I must have always known reading was very important because the first memories I have as a child deal with books. There was not one night that I don't remember mom reading me a storybook by my bedside. I was extremely inspired by the wonderful way the words sounded.
I always wanted to know what my mom was reading. Hearing mom say, "I can't believe what's printed in the newspaper this morning," made me want to grab it out of her hands and read it myself. I wanted to be like my mom and know all of the things she knew. So I carried around a book, and each night, just to be like her, I would pretend to be reading.
This is how everyone learned to read. We would start off with sentences, then paragraphs, and then stories. It seemed an unending journey, but even as a six-year-old girl I realized that knowing how to read could open many doors. When mom said, "The C-A-N-D-Y is hidden on the top shelf," I knew where the candy was. My progress in reading raised my curiosity, and I wanted to know everything. I often found myself telling my mom to drive more slowly, so that I could read all of the road signs we passed.
Most of my reading through primary, middle and high school was factual reading. I read for knowledge, and to make A's on my tests. Sometimes, I would read a novel that was asked, but I didn't enjoy this type of reading. I liked facts, things that are concrete. I thought anything abstract left too much room for argument.
Now that I'm growing and the world I once knew as being so simple is becoming more complex, I find myself needing a way to escape. By opening a novel, I can leave behind my pressure and enter into a wonderful and mysterious world where I am now a new character. In these worlds I can become anyone. I don't have to write down what happened or what technique the author was using when he or she wrote this. I just read to relax.
We're taught to read because it's necessary for much of human understanding. Reading is an important part of my life. Reading satisfies my desire to keep learning. And I've found that the possibilities that lie within books are limitless.
Plastic pollution is one of the earth's greatest challenges that humans have faced and often neglected. Anyone who uses plastic has caused problems in one way or another. In order to solve the environmental problems, more and more people are starting to live a simple and environmental-friendly life called zero-waste lifestyle.
When you choose a zero-waste lifestyle, you pay more attention to how your consumption habits influence the environment. You're more careful about what you buy and how you use it. So how can you live a zero-waste life? Actually when looking at your rubbish, you'll grasp what it is.
There are two main types of rubbish. The first is food packaging, so we should learn how to shop for things with no big pack or package-free. The second is product packaging, so we should learn how to make our own products in a green way. With our efforts, we will reduce a large amount of rubbish. Shopping for second-hand goods is also important. Instead of buying new clothes and putting new waste into the waste cycle, we should buy things that are second-hand or can be totally recycled.
There are many advantages of living a zero-waste life. Firstly, we can save money by making things ourselves and buying second-hand goods. Second-hand clothes are usually less expensive than new ones. Next, we can eat better to stay healthy. We should buy fresh fruits and vegetables to reduce the waste of resources when processing food.
Although government policies can make a difference, it needs everyone's efforts to completely solve the problem. From now on, let's begin to live a green life.

Are you looking forward to being alone at home? My answer is NO. One day,my parents went (到国外) and left me at home. I had three days (不上课). During the (接下来的) days after they left, I spent the time by (我自己). After (醒来) up in the morning, it's a time to prepare my breakfast. I couldn't cook, so I ate sandwiches without other choice. Then I went to school and spent the day as usual. When I got home after school, I tried to cook something. It's really difficult for me. (不管什么) I cooked, I burned them including the rice. We all know that the British love their manners. They are part of their (nation) identity(特性), as well as having fish and chips and complaining about the weather. Recently, I read online that they say "sorry" up to eight times day.
After doing some research, I have not been able to find any specific reasons why they are like this. I suppose, for centuries, manners, (include) how they behave at the table and talk to other people have been one of the differences the lower and upper classes and those manners show their social classes. Britain has (tradition) been quite a conservative(保守的) country. There are many articles (suggest) that their seemingly polite attitude of always saying "please" and "thank you" is quite wrong because it is impossible for a person to always feel that he or she wants(thank) someone or say "please".
Maybe it is for this reason that people are going one of two ways: They are too polite and hold back their feelings they are not polite at all and express their true feelings directly. Some British people (be) tired of pretending that they are always happy and having to please others. But sometimes because they feel they have to be polite, they are prevented from saying they truly think.
How to Make Friends at a New School
Starting with a new school can be difficult. Everything seems to be different, and you don 't even know where to go for your own classes. However, if you use these skills, you can quickly turn some of those strangers into friends.
Be yourself
If some people don't accept you, they're not the kind of friends you need. People often stay together because they have similar interests. For example, someone who does a lot of sports may make friends with those who also run or swim a lot.
Remember to be nice to the people you meet at your new school. If you think that you will say something that may make them feel sad, do not say anything and just nod your head if they talk to you. Also, remember to be as helpful as possible!
Believe in yourself
A smile goes a long way. When you walk in the halls, don't keep your eyes on the floor. Raise your head and make eye contact with other people. Introduce yourself. Tell them your name and where you're from.
Remember people's names
You like it when people use your name, and so do other people.Besides, ask them in a kind way if they have a nickname. You'd be surprised how often this may come in handy.
A. Be friendly to others. B. Making new friends can be hard, too. C. Never change what you are to try and fit in. D. If you see someone you know, smile or say "Hi". E. People may become angry if you just begin by saying "Hey" each time. F. Don't sit at the back of the classroom where other people don't notice you! |
